Based on the director’s father’s short animation from 1980 and loosely inspired by the director’s own childhood, Sierra takes us into the surreal car racing world. Parents often push their children to follow their steps. In this case, the father’s obsession with rally turns the kid into a car tire. Among 52 awards, Sierra won at Palm Springs ShortFest (Best Short of the Festival), San Francisco International Film Festival (Best Animated Short), and Ottawa International Film Festival (Audience Award). Sierra was screened at more than 200 film festivals.
