Before there was Toonami, there was Cartoon Network Super Adventures. Full-blown adventure from the four corners of the galaxy. The greatest superheroes ever. Prepare yourself for Super Adventures. This is a compilation video I put together using footage of commercials and episodes from shows that played during Cartoon Network's Super Adventures in the afternoons at various times on Saturdays in 1996, as well as during the weekdays at various times between 1992 and 1998. Many shows (like The Centurions, Frankenstein Jr. and The Impossibles, Birdman and the Galaxy Trio, and Thundarr the Barbarian to name a very few) can't be used for copyright reasons. These shows were substituted with other great cartoons and shows that played on Cartoon Network around the same time. Think of it as a retro remix or a bootleg broadcast. This is the eighty-fifth video I've made like this, and the twentieth video I've done on Cartoon Network. Like I said at the beginning of the description, Super Adventures along with Power Zone were the grandfathers to Toonami. There was also Afternoon Adventures, which was sort of the father to Toonami. I'm not sure how many people will remember Super Adventures, but I have pretty fond memories of this block. When Cartoon Network first came around, I pretty quickly fell in love with the old Hanna-Barbera cartoons, especially the action ones from the 60's and 70's. It's unfortunate some of them can't be included, but the ones I was able to include are pretty good. I also included as many shows as I could, going well over what the schedule may have run for (although I did find one source claiming it ran from 11 AM to 6 on Saturdays in 1996) just because I wanted to be able to showcase as many different shows from the block that I could in one video. Some of the shows may not have been played as their own dedicated shows, and with shows where I didn't have an intro or credits, I made due with substitutions. The way the commercial breaks are structured aren't accurate to the time period, but I did it differently here because I didn't like returning from commercials just to show credits and go back to commercials, which would have happened way too often in this video otherwise. And finally, the episode of G-Force is missing its ending. I don't know what happened to it. It's totally my error. But anyhow, it was a fun trip going down memory lane making this video, and I hope you enjoy watching it! Disclaimer: I do not make any money or accept any donations for these videos.
