Since President Vladimir Putin first came into power he wanted to “recreate the Russian empire” and return all former Soviet republics to that empire, former US Army vice chief of staff General Jack Keane says. “Ukraine is the centrepiece of that but so are the aligned NATO counties as well,” he told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. He added that the United States has made “a lot of mistakes” conceding to Russia through the reign of multiple presidents.
