Drumming Game and Play-Along - I Can Drum at Home

submitted by Mrs. Fishman on 09/29/23 1

This video is a part of the “I Can Drum at Home” series, with video lessons developed by Brian Kushmaul, Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra Principal Percussionist, and Suzanne Fassett Wright, Director of Arts Education. Filmed by the musicians in the videos on their phones post-NYS "Pause," each is based on the curriculum presented in the CI School Residencies program. These videos are intended for use with young students new to hand drumming to explore musical expression. Kids and adults can drum together along with these basic lessons, using household items such as a bowl, a cardboard box, the floor or a lap. So – pull up a chair, find something to drum on, and join in the fun! If you like, use the closed captioning feature to guide your interaction - there are emoticons to guide you through the activities and help you as you learn this drumming pattern. This VSA program is presented in 2019-2020 under contract with The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
