Film Scoring with Maschine - Using Clips for Realism

submitted by AudienceMagnet on 08/20/23 1

As a composer, I am always looking make my music authentic and emotionally effective. The most powerful tool for that is realism - from sample quality to performance quality. Maschine is historically a pattern based tool and patterns often constrain my performance. No matter what kind of music you make, patterns sound like... patterns. They definitely have a place in the composition landscape, but for scoring and production music I need to be able to also break out of using patterns if I want my music to really shine. Maschine's implementation of clips is an elegant (and necessary) feature for me to use when I'm making my music reach my goals for authenticity and realism. In this video, I'll briefly explain how and when I use clips and demonstrate their use from the MK3. If you are a composer and you're curious if Maschine can be used as a pseudo DAW, then this video will be very enlightening!
