submitted by Throwback Machine on 07/22/14 1

In 1968 two of the best Motown groups, Diana Ross & the Supremes and The Temptations, got together to record "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me" written by Kenneth Gamble, Jerry Williams and Jerry Ross in 1966 and previously recorded by Dee Dee Warwick in 1966 and Madeline Bell in 1968. This third version was the most successful reaching #2 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the R&B charts in January of 1969. Diana Ross and Eddie Kendricks shared lead vocals. The single was included in the album, Diana Ross & the Supremes Join the Temptations, and can also be found on the Supremes box set released in 2000 and The Complete Motown Singles Vol 9 box set released in 2008 all on the Motown label.
