03 Music Basics - Rhythm (Part 1)

submitted by dash2bk on 05/30/23 1

When I learnt music, I was told the rhythm is the most important part of the music. A right note in the wrong place is still a wrong note! In this video I use simple rhymes to explain some rhythms. Crotchets and quavers, and crotchet rests. In future rhythm videos (there will be a few) we shall look at longer notes such as minims and semibreves, shorter notes like semi-quavers, and what a dot after the note does to its value. Stay tuned for these in the future! (Subtitles in time with the rhymes will be completed soon. Please turn off automatic subtitles if you don't want to see these) Intro/outro music: Mozart's 7th Symphony - Movement 1 Next video - Simple Time Signatures Previous video - Pulse & Beat youtu.be/mnb5zX3sRe4 If you have any questions, please leave me a comment, and I'll try and get back to you. Videos are on a loose schedule of one per week, if all goes to plan, Monday lunchtime (1pm UTC). **Video Mistake - The word swimming in the last song was said quickly as a crotchet, and not separated into 2 quavers. Well done if you spotted this 'deliberate' mistake** Twitter - twitter.com/music_outlined Facebook - www.facebook.com/musicoutlined Homepage - www.tongy.co.uk/music-outlined This video and all content of the Music Outlined YouTube channel has been created by me, Simon Tong.
