Maybe your doubts don't stem from God, but stem from Jesus. He's the single most controversial character of human history. This Sunday we're asking you to consider Jesus. - - - 📖 ABOUT THE SERIES: Doubts? Questions? Fears? What if the absence of certainty was actually an invitation into a deeper faith? Join us for our Easter series where we will take a look into some of the questions and doubts we all run into and learn how we can grow into a greater dependence on God. - - - ✏️ MESSAGE NOTES: The eleven disciples traveled to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had directed them. When they saw him, they worshiped, but some doubted. {Matthew 28:16-17} 1: CONSIDER THE MINISTRY OF JESUS When the scribes who were Pharisees saw that he was eating with sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples, “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?” When Jesus heard this, he told them, “It is not those who are well who need a doctor, but those who are sick. I didn’t come to call the righteous, but sinners.” {Mark 2:16-17} 2: CONSIDER THE CLAIMS OF JESUS So he got into a boat, crossed over, and came to his own town. Just then some men brought to him a paralytic lying on a stretcher. Seeing their faith, Jesus told the paralytic, “Have courage, son, your sins are forgiven.” At this, some of the scribes said to themselves, “He’s blaspheming!” Perceiving their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why are you thinking evil things in your hearts? For which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—then he told the paralytic, “Get up, take your stretcher, and go home.” So he got up and went home. When the crowds saw this, they were awestruck and gave glory to God, who had given such authority to men. {Matthew 9:1-8} 3: CONSIDER THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS You killed the source of life, whom God raised from the dead; we are witnesses of this. {Act 3:15} 4: CONSIDER THE MESSAGE OF JESUS For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. {John 3:16-17} Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. {John 14:6} - - - ✝️ ABOUT SWERVE: Swerve Church is a new church in the neighborhood of Bushwick in Brooklyn NYC.
