LBT+ women in French-speaking West Africa are underrepresented in the broader LGBT movement. To help address this issue, the AQYI launched the MawuLisa fellowship program to provide technical support, capacity building, and financial support up to $5000 to young and emerging LBT+ women in West Africa. On the 11th and 12th of January 2021, the selected fellows gathered safely in Lagos, Nigeria, for days of training, networking, and strategy formulation.
