Counting down from 10 to 1, a girl and a boy empty the night sky of fireflies as - counting up from 1 to 10 - they full their jar with them. But once captured, the fireflies' light flickers and fades, so in a generous good-night gesture, the children release them. This is a great book for showing the "friends of 10" - number pairs that add up to 10.
