Album now on iTunes! bit.ly/LAElectric8 Steve Reich's Electric Counterpoint (1987) is one of the foremost pieces written for electric guitar ensemble. Although the original requires thirteen parts (11 guitars and 2 basses), this adaptation for eight (6 guitars, 1 bass, and 1 Beartrax) manages to maintain as many as nine canonical voices at a time. The contrapuntal themes, metric modulations, and infectious grooves of movement three are perfectly suited to our Interlocking Textures program. - - - Los Angeles Electric 8 is a chamber group of eight electric guitarists dedicated to revitalizing classical music for a new generation of listeners. Featuring: Hugo Aguayo; Tom Farrell; Philip Graulty; Chelsea Green; Kai Kurosawa; Marc Nimoy; Felix Salazar; and JohnPaul Trotter. Composed by: Steve Reich (b.1936) Arranged by: Felix Salazar
