This play along is for a circle cup passing game. It is also good for reinforcing 3/4 meter. Students tap the cups, clap their hands, and pass the cups along to the next person, as per the instructions. Pause the video where the Game instructions are shown, so students can get familiar with how to tap the cups, and when to pass . HOW TO PLAY- 1.Students sit in a circle. 2. For the first 2 lines of the carol, the pattern is - Hold the cup and tap it down 3 times ( once on each beat as shown), then clap hands as per the pattern shown for 3 beats. Repeat the cup tapping, and then there are rests for 3 beats, giving the students enough time to pass the cup to the next person, before starting the pattern again. 3. For the third line of the tune, the pattern is tap the cup 3 times while its down ( no holding), then use the rests to flip the cup over, and tap the cup 3 times, as shown by the images, before flipping it back down again. Last line ( fourth line) of the tune, the pattern is like the first 2 lines, except its just once, as per the melody. Same cup patterns, as explained above, for all verses. Only the clapping rhythm pattern changes in each verse.
