Step 1: First, visit www.opensuse.org/ to download the openSUSE ISO file and download the Leap version image to your PC. Step 2: Open the VMware Workstation 16 Pro virtualization software installed on your PC and choose to create a new virtual machine. Step 3: Continue with Custom (Advanced) in the wizard that opens. And change the hardware version to 17.x or leave it. Step 4: Choose to install the operating system later and set the guest system type to Linux / openSUSE 64 Bit. Step 5: Configure the virtual machine name as the name of the system you selected and set the installation location. Step 6: Set a value suitable for the performance of your real computer in the processor configuration. Step 7: Configure the virtual RAM size for your virtual system. For example, with the maximum option you can specify the size your system can use. Step 8: Select NAT as the network type, LSI Logic for the I/O Controller, and NVMe as the virtual disk type. Step 9: To install openSUSE on a clean disk, choose to create a new virtual disk and increase the disk size. Continue without changing the name and location of the disk file. Step 10: In the last step of the wizard, click Customize Hardware and tick the virtualization properties from the settings of the processor device, and then click the CD/DVD device to add the openSUSE ISO file you downloaded. Step 11: Select 3.x from the USB settings and enable graphics acceleration and configure the graphics memory according to your PC's GPU. Step 12: Close the virtual machine wizard and run the openSUSE guest machine.
