English see below [dt.] Der Lion Park in Johannesburg zählt mit über 100 Löwen zu den bekanntesten Aufzuchtstationen Südafrikas. Außer Löwen sind hier aber auch Giraffen, Zebras, Springböcke, Hyänen, Wildhunde und viele weitere Tiere untergebracht. Wir haben hier gelernt, wie man sich einen Vogel Strauß vom Leibe hält und zwar indem man einen Besen höher als den Kopf des Vogels hält. Davor ergreift dieser sofort die Flucht. Ferner erfuhren wir, dass es immer wieder Touristen gibt, die glauben aus dem Auto aussteigen zu müssen, um mit den niedlichen Kätzchen ein Foto zu machen. In der Regel endet diese Fotosession tödlich. Mittlerweile dient der Park aber auch Filmteams als Kulisse für Wildlife Filme. ********* [en.] The Lion Park in Johannesburg, with over 100 lions, belongs to the most famous lion breeding stations of South Africa. You hold a broom which is higher than the head of the bird; and the ostrich immediately takes flight.
