Food Truck Inspections For Beginners [ The ONLY 3 Inspections you will EVER GET ]. #foodtruckbusiness #foodtruckforsale This video is the most important thing about running a food business like a mobile food truck ! In this video, Damian Roberti covers the three types of food truck health inspections you could potentially be getting. Number one is your yearly yearly food truck inspection, which is something that is the norm in the industry. Number two is a second-to-third type of inspection that you don't want to get more than once a year. And number three is a fourth type of safety check that you may get every six months or more. Food trucks are big on wheels as far as a food truck is concerned, but in no way compare to running a deli, bakery, ice cream shop, or any type of restaurant or cafe. The health department will look through every nook and cranny, depending upon how thorough your health department is. You definitely want to make sure everything is clean and sanitized. Don't be afraid to ask for a complaint-oriented inspection if they find violations. The health inspector will look through your food truck with an extra fine tooth comb, and potentially write up any type of violations that they find. You don't want to have them come and start writing up a number of violations, because then they're going to come back again. Don't be afraid to implement certain procedures and policies for you and your team so you don't have to actually ever incur one of these types of inspections. Damian You want to serve your customers quality food, and you want them to come back over and over. If the local word gets out that your food truck is getting people sick, that's gonna be damaging to your business, he says. He says creating a cleaning process is key to any food business success, but especially to a food truck. Make sre you have a specific book set up for a policy procedure, if you will, on keeping your food trucks sanitary. A food truck owner should create a checklist of what they expect their team and employees to do in order to ensure a clean, sanitized truck. Make sure you keep a good rapport and relationship with your local health department. Don't be afraid to ask for help if there's a complaint from a customer about the quality of your food. If you have a problem, don't wait until it gets so bad that you can't afford to fix it. There are three types of food truck inspections you will get from the health department. Your annual food truck inspection, which is a norm, may be bi year, maybe every six months, six months at a time, or every quarter. The complaint inspection is the followup to the first one, and it's about every year.
