Ctv Newsbrief: Food Truck Safety Inspection

submitted by Madamxtra on 07/18/22 1

At a time when consumers are seeking socially-distanced dining options, the safety of those operations is more important than ever. Columbus is home to more than 300 mobile food vending units. To ensure they are able to safely serve the public, the City of Columbus requires an annual inspection and license renewal. Vendors can get two required inspections in one stop: from both Columbus Fire and the Public Safety Support Services License Section. In years past, food trucks would be lined up to take advantage of this convenient option. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, this year inspections are being done by appointment only, to manage and ensure social distancing. As with restaurants, food trucks are also inspected and licensed by Columbus Public Health. Those inspections were done earlier this year.
