February 17, 2020 The 2020 TC Volleyball NIT 18u Championship. For more info visit: triplecrownvolleyball.com In 2013, Triple Crown Sports invited 25 of the top club directors into the corporate offices in Colorado to talk about what really worked and what was missing in the Elite volleyball world. After listening to these thoughtful and engaged leaders in the sport, the 2014 Triple Crown Volleyball Championships took place in Salt Lake City, UT, with 38 teams in attendance the first weekend in May. With support from the following clubs, the event was an immediate success. In 2015, club directors wanted the event moved to the last week of April – that proved to be a wise decision. The Triple Crown Volleyball Championships grew to 66 teams in five age groups and also drew the attention of 16 college programs. In 2016, after steady dialogue from teams that wanted to attend but had a conflict with the date, we again made a change. The Triple Crown Volleyball Preseason NIT is now on a date populated by most every team in the nation -- Presidents Day Weekend. By continually listening to these clubs, the event was a huge success with 150 teams and more than 200 college coaches on site. In 2017, the tournament grew yet again, bringing more than 200 teams to Salt Lake City to compete. Over 300 college coaches from across the nation attended to watch one of the most anticipated events of the year. 2018 saw the TC NIT blossom to 436 teams in its last year at the Salt Palace Convention Center, with the event drawing masses of college coaches from every level of the sport. With the addition of college-coach camps and unsigned junior/senior workouts, the recruiting value of the event made an enormous step forward. The TC NIT also experimented with livestream broadcasts of as many as 40 courts and rolled out more hospitality areas to take the edge off for parents and families. The 2019 TC Women's NIT moved to Kansas City and drew 580 teams to the heart of the nation; several high-profile clubs that had yet to play in the event took advantage of the move to Missouri to get their players in the mix. This marked the first year for 12's and 13's at the event, and the TC NIT delivered again with high-value college camps and player workouts. As our event continues to grow, we remain dedicated to our mission to offer an elite championship moment to teams across the nation, with the expectation that even more highly accomplished club programs will want their opportunity to compete against the best.
