Librarians do more than just sort books. In this talk, Tara Franzetti shares about how her duties as a public librarian are busier than ever, as public libraries are more vibrant than ever. Tara also shares how libraries are not outdated, and that young people are the most common users of public libraries, more than any other age group. Tara Franzetti has been working in libraries since 2002 and is currently a branch manager at the Richmond Public Library. Her favorite things, besides libraries, are tofu from Ipanema Cafe, Disney World, punk rock, and chocolate. She and her husband Paul relocated to Richmond from Northern NJ five years ago and live in Bon Air with their toddler son, Patrick. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
