Adventures in Spring: Upcoming Blooms in the Arboretum

February 16, 2022 The 14-acre grounds surrounding the Linda Hall Library are home to some 300 trees representing 48 genera and 130 species. Highlights of the Arboretum include a Peony Garden, which are located on the Northeast side of the grounds, and 12 Champion Trees. In this talk, Samantha Sanchez, Head of Grounds at the Linda Hall Library, describes the rich variety of flowering plants soon to bloom this spring in the Arboretum and answers questions about which flowers and trees to plant to brighten a lawn and garden (and when to plant them!). The speaker: Samantha Sanchez has been Head of Grounds with the Linda Hall Library for over six years, where she oversees the horticulture of the arboretum. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture in 2007 from Northwest Missouri State University and has nearly 20 years of experience in nurseries, landscaping, and gardening.
