In 2017, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey initiated a statewide effort to reduce the state’s rate of recidivism. Through an innovative multi-agency partnership between the Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation and Reentry and Department of Economic Security, Second Chance Centers were established at the Lewis, Perryville, and Tucson state prisons.
