Step 1: Press CTRL + Alt + T on your #LinuxMint computer and open the terminal. Step 2: Use the ping command to check your internet connection. Step 3: If there is no problem with your network connection, add #GNS3 to APT and then press Enter. Step 4: Update the software repository. Step 5: Execute the GNS3 install command and confirm the disk usage. Step 6: After installing GNS3, select Run appliances on my local computer in the Setup Wizard window. Step 7: Check that the Host Binding setting in Local Server Configuration is Localhost. Step 8: Check that the connection to the local GNS3 server is successful in Local Server Status. Step 9: Check the localhost settings of GNS3 in Summary. Step 10: After completing the Setup Wizard, click Edit / Preferences to add a Cisco Router IOS. Step 11: After clicking Dynamips / IOS Routers, click the New button and open the New IOS Router Template. Step 12: Click Browse to select the IOS image in the New IOS Router Template. Step 13: After adding the Router IOS, configure the name of your device uniquely from other devices in Name and Platform. Step 14: You can leave the Memory setting at the default value or configure a higher value according to the power of your computer. Step 15: You can add gigabitethernet or serial interface to the Router in Network Adapters settings. Step 16: Finally, set an appropriate Idle-PC value so that the Router does not tire your computer. Step 17: After a suitable Idle-PC value is found, close the IOS wizard and Template window.
