[Spanish Version] Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) are a group of chemicals that cause cancers, birth defects, learning disabilities and other health problems in humans and wildlife. The GEF funds projects in developing countries to assist them in phasing out and eliminating these hazardous chemicals. The story of POPs is the story of human health, and behind every GEF project there are dedicated men and women working every day to protect us all from these chemicals.
