submitted by Marvin's Underground Evening Lectures on 12/07/21 1

Expert scholars discuss the challenges of poverty and violence and how to tackle these issues and build successful nations. Despite many years of research and interventions, the modern world is characterized by extra-ordinary wealth combined with wide spread poverty and violence. Understanding these variations in national well-being is likely to entail new ideas and a combination of fresh perspectives. The purpose of this panel is to bring together respected scholars from Anthropology, Economics, Finance and Law to discuss the challenges before us and how their research may provide new ways to tackle these issues, and decide how to build a successful nation. Panelists: Daron Acemoglu, Jean Ensminger, Ulrike Malmendier, Robert E. Scott Moderator: W. Bentley MacLeod
