The Mission Possible Platform was launched at the 2019 UN Climate Action Summit to help accelerate global industry decarbonization. This session officially unveils the next step of Mission Possible and the platform's evolution into a new major multistakeholder partnership – the Mission Possible Partnership - leveraging the power of a broader coalition of partners comprising the World Economic Forum, the Energy Transitions Commission, the Rocky Mountain Institute and We Mean Business. The session will outline how the Partnership aims to accelerate systems change and orchestrate high climate ambition industry coalitions with a view to delivering sectoral outcomes at COP26 in Glasgow 2021. What policies, practices and partnerships are needed to accelerate pathways to net-zero emissions on the road to COP26? How can action on reaching industry-sector agreements be intensified in the run-up to COP26? How can governments and industry cooperate? Speakers: Anthony Robert Hobley, Rich Lesser, Puneet Dalmia, Maria Carolina Schmidt Zaldívar, María Mendiluce, Mads Nipper, Fatih Birol The World Economic Forum is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation.
