Gay Travel Guide: Nashville, TN USA***I purposely picked this outfit as my interpretation of 'southern style' but it kinda missed the mark =p*** ***Also, I make a comment about people in Nashville being of a different caliber than what I'm used to, that was not intended to mean strictly appearance but also attitude, style etc. there is just a very different vibe there that was def. not to my liking***
***Also, I did make it out to Knoxville, and actually liked that place a lot better than Nashville. The Downtown area seemed pretty hip and cruisy, so check that out if you ever in Tennessee =)***

Costa Rica video - Gay TravelSo, how do Costa Ricans view gay people? Can I kiss in public? Are there any nude gay beaches? Gay friendly hotels? Get your answers HERE!
Costa Rica decriminalized homosexuality between consenting adults in the 1970s. Since then, a series of legal rulings, on a judicial as well as administrative level, have turned things around for Costa Rican lesbians and gay men.
The Costa Rica constitution makes the Catholic Church the official state religion (church and state is not separated in Costa Rica), and about 80% or more of the country is Catholic. So, you can imagine where the gay lifestyle sits in their eyes. Gay Costa Rica citizens are still fighting their straight counterparts so they can have the same benefits that heterosexual couples receive such as inheritance rights, pensions, and tax rights to name a few.
Besides the Catholics in Costa Rica, the gay community here is battling against the Evangelicals in Costa Rica, who came out 20,000 strong from all over Costa Rica to protest the last Civil Union bill that was sent for approval. It looks like the gay community has a huge hurdle to climb before they are seen as equals.
I just have to say for a country that deems prostitution legal this seems like a fight that should have been overturned years ago.
That being said of all the Central American countries Costa Rica is said to be the most gay-tolerant/gay-friendly country, which makes it a highly desirable travel destination for the gay tourist. In the more recent years there has been a boom in the gay hotels being built in Costa Rica, as well as gay bars, gay travel agencies, gay tour operators, and restaurants. Places are popping up all over the country that caters to men only, as well as clothing optional places.

Pilot Globe Guides - Gay PrideWith more countries opening their doors and minds to the gay traveller than ever before it's a great time to visit some of the worlds more liberal countries.
In this guide to the planet's greatest Gay Pride celebrations, Justine Shapiro begins by taking a gay history tour of San Francisco and learning about the start of the gay rights movement in America. From here we journey to the best gay parties the planet has to offer. Jonathan Atherton visits 'pride' events in London and Amsterdam, while Justine gets dolled up in Sydney's Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. Megan McCormick heads to the home of ABBA, and follows Dancing Queen Marco in the Stockholm Gay Pride.
Finally we end the party in the largest gay pride event in Europe as Adela Ucar travels to Madrid. It's a city keen to shake of the fascist history of dictator general Franco and Madrids' massive Gay Pride event certainly does that.

Gay Travel Guide: Havana, CubaHey I know you guys have been waiting and waiting for this review but my internet right now is HORRIBLE so I wasn't able to edit and upload as I want... anyway, Cuba. BEAUTIFUL! People are super friendly but very pushy. Outside of cruising there isn't much to do gay wise in Cuba... also since most of the local people can't afford a place of their own if you plan on doing the naughty you have to have a hotel room for yourself =p
Also it's very polluted which is probably the biggest negative for me, oh and that there is no food!

How To Travel The World On The Cheap | Graham Hughes (@EveryCountry)Graham Hughes, the first person to visit every country in the world without flying offers his expert advice on how to travel the world on a shoestring.
When asked how can I afford to travel so much, I feel like retorting with: how can you afford your rent? To keep a dog? To have children? To smoke? When I travel, I have no rent to pay, no dog to feed, no kids to look after or cigarette companies to support, so 100% of the money I have can go on travel. Keeping to a budget of $15 a day is fairly easy if you're CouchSurfing (free), eating street food ($2 a meal) and travelling on the chicken bus ($10 per 100 miles). That's just $5500 a year -- less than a typical British cigarette smoker will spend on ciggies over the same period and much, much less than the rent on a flat in London or the cost of bringing up children.
"The toughest part of travel is deciding to go."
Travel isn't a question of being loaded, it's a question of priorities. Obviously if you want comfort and security, stay at home, work hard and maybe go on a cruise when you're 67 years old. If you're lucky enough to live that long. But if you want to see the world NOW, while you're young, rush headlong into the thrill and vigour of the unknown, wake up every day in a new place with new challenges and new friends, then the world is your dancefloor -- all you have to do is make the decision to GET OUT THERE and strut your funky stuff.

Costa Rica Travel Video GuideTravel video about destination Costa Rica.
Costa Rica was sparsely inhabited by indigenous people before it came under Spanish rule in the 16th century. Once a poor and isolated colony, since becoming independent in the 18th century, Costa Rica has become one of the most stable, prosperous, and progressive nations in Latin America. It constitutionally abolished its army permanently in 1949, becoming the first and one of the few sovereign nations without a standing army. A constitutional republic, it is the only Latin American country to have been a democracy since 1950 or earlier. Costa Rica has consistently been among the top-ranking Latin American countries in the Human Development Index. Indeed, in 2010 Costa Rica was cited by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as having attained much higher human development than other countries at the same income levels, while in 2011, the UNDP also identified it as a good performer on environmental sustainability, with a better record on human development and inequality than the median of their region.
Learn to travel -- travel to learn: Robin Esrock at TEDxVancouverRobin Esrock's success as a global adventurer, travel writer, TV producer and international TV personality was no accident, although it did start with one. Struck down on his bike at a Vancouver intersection, Robin hobbled away with a broken kneecap, and one year later, a modest $20,000 insurance settlement. It was just enough for him pack up his things, quit his job, and set off on a one-year solo round-the-world backpacking adventure to 24 countries. He named his journey Modern Gonzo, and committed to record his year of living dangerously, with online weekly reports, photography, videos, and interviews with every person he met. In doing so, he pioneered a new era of multi-platform, switched-on and wired-in travel journalism, leading to adventures beyond his wildest dreams.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
