Academic success requires 17 different visual skills and seeing 20/20 is just one of them. Vision Screenings are not designed to test ALL of these visual skills.
Vision screenings test how well your child sees 20 feet away, but not how well they can see when reading.
If your child has passed a vision screening, don't assume that all is well. When a child struggles with reading, an eye coordination problem could be the cause.

How Lazy Was Fixed - Eye Patching Did Not Fix It - Vision Therapy without Lazy Eye Surgery Did! Yoked Prism Glasses - Concussion Recovery Treatment for Double Vision w Ambient Lenses This video shows Diane wearing trial lenses for her new prescription yoked prism glasses. The eye doctor asks her to read and walk with and without her new prescription yoked prism glasses or ambient prism lenses. Diane is an adult who suffered a concussion after being rear ended while driving. After the concussion, Diane was unable to work or drive. She had extreme trouble with balance and walking. Post-concussion, Diane had many concussive symptoms...visual problems, poor balance, heightened sensitivity to light and noise, cognitive issues, reading difficulties, etc.

Teenager Overcomes Anxiety and Learning Disabilities w/ Vision Therapy Daniel overcame his problems with anxiety, learning disabilities, and more with Vision Therapy as a teenager. Before Vision Therapy, Daniel struggled with extreme challenges with constant anxiety, poor concentration, low self confidence and self esteem. Before Vision Therapy, Kirsten was struggling overall. She was sucking her thumb; couldn't tie her shoes; had trouble with all sports including ones she loved like dancing, gymnastics, riding a bike, and swimming.
