The Best Vintage Cars Gather for the 2014 Greystone Concours Concours D'ElegancePatina-covered chrome and vintage paint gleamed in the sun as some of the most desirable cars in Southern California gathered for the fifth annual Greystone Concours d'Elegance this month.
The charity car show has become a staple on The Auto Gallery calendar for the past few years, and we're proud to say we were there again in full force for the 2014 event.
The Auto Gallery display featured some of the cars available at our Beverly Hills and Calabasas McLaren/Maserati dealerships. Passers by commented on the subtle elegance of our Maserati GranCabrio, the surprising affordability of the $797-a-month Ghibli, the F1-inspired lines of our McLaren 12C Spider and the evolved bodywork of the new 650S.
Guests were able to take a break from the heat under our umbrellas and in our VIP garage. One of our biggest hits of the day were the chocolate covered strawberries provided by our favorite local sweets supplier Killer Confections.
Thousands of guests wandered aisles of vintage machinery taking in the menagerie of rare and collectible vehicles on display. Highlights for us included a Ferrari 250 SWB, a Shelby GT350H that makes us want to violate rental agreements and an entire row of stunning aircooled Porsche cars.
A 1912 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost won top honors at the Concours d'Elegance, while one of our personal favorites, a beautiful Alfa Romeo TZ2, was named Best of Show for the Concours de Sport.
As always, it was a terrific opportunity to speak with current customers and the rest of the car community.

"Former Tonight Show host and local car legend Jay Leno stopped by our Beverly Hills showroom yesterday to take delivery of his new McLaren P1?.
The comedian brought a video crew along to film his delivery experience for the popular web series, Jay Leno's Garage.
Leno's new car is the first McLaren P1? to be delivered in the North American market. Finished in Volcano Yellow paint with extensive carbon fiber trim, the car is truly stunning.
McLaren North America Sales Manager Peter Freiberger and McLaren Automotive Aftersales Specialist Chris Woodley flew out to our Beverly Hills showroom to ensure the delivery went smoothly.
One highlight of the day was when Jay spotted two young McLaren fans watching on from outside the dealership. He stopped his shoot and invited the pair inside to come inside and sit in his new car.
Once all the requisite shots were taken and hands were shaken, Jay pulled out on to Wilshire Blvd. becoming the very first person to pilot a privately owned McLaren P1? in North America. Jay said he had plans to put 'a few hundred miles' on the car after filming had wrapped.
It was a big day for everyone involved. We can't wait to see the final video from Jay Leno's Garage, but in the meantime, watch the clip above for our take on the morning.

At Lamborghini North Los Angeles we understand that an exotic car is more than just a method for transportation - it's a lifestyle. So when one of the largest Lamborghini gatherings of the year takes place in our backyard, we consider it an obligation to give our customers the best experience possible.
The event kicked off with a meet up for Lamborghini Supercar Sunday at the Topanga Canyon Mall. The location plays home to a Cars & Coffee-style car show every Sunday, but once a month, a specific brand or theme is picked as the theme of the event. This time it was Lamborghini's turn.
A wide range of terrific cars were represented at the show. From the latest LP 700-4 Aventador Roadster to a trio (Yes, three!) of Miuras, the parking lot became one of the largest gatherings of Lamborghini cars around. Our staff was on hand to meet with customers, provide coffee & pastries and sign our guests up for the next stage of the event.
Throughout the day, customers took each other on in the first Supercar Sunday social media contest. The most liked, shared and retweeted Lamborghini posts would earn our grand prize: The very first Lamborghini North Los Angeles 2015 Lamborghini Huracán test drive. test drive. A second-place prize was generously donated by the local luxury car spa Lavaggio, while the person with the third most popular posts earning a gift basket of Lamborghini branded merchandise.
Once the show began to wrap on in the parking lot, we fired up our engines and headed for the canyons. The pre-planned route winded through some of the best driving roads in Southern California, ending up at one of our favorite spots, the Ladyface Ale Companie Alehouse & Brasserie, for brunch.
hile guests enjoyed the craft beer and food, our events team tabulated the results of the social media contest and printed out custom framed photos from the drive. Aventador aficionado turned internet celebrity Debbie AKA Batventador took home the social media contest's grand prize, and we're looking forward to bringing you video of her Huracán test drive soon.
We had an absolutely fantastic time hanging out with our customers and can't wait until our next event.

Porsche's racing heritage is evident in the way the 911 feels. Going into a turn, the car settles in, coming out, the lovely rear squats down, and once it's pointed straight, it's off to the races.
I was struck by the usability the 991 offers. You could literally drive this car comfortably to wine country one day and race it the next.
One of the amazing ways Porsche was able to achieve such an all-around performer is through the use of buttons. Push the Sport Exhaust button and the exhaust baffles open, letting the perfectly tuned flat six engine roar. With the Sport Plus button activated, the suspension turns raw, transforming the PCH into the Nurburgring. There are so many great buttons! Launch control and matched-revs... I could go on.
My wife or I could drive this car every day. It offers all of the luxury of any high quality European sedan, but it's wrapped up in one hell of a sports car. From a daily driver, to a racecar, to a family car, to a grocery getter, the 911 can do it all."

This car is just a perfect balance of power, and size, and nimbleness. I've never driven this fast on this road before in anything. Ferraris, older Porsches. This card tops them all.
The Cayman has been totally redesigned for this year. It's got a longer, wider wheel base. If you look at the front end of the vehicle it's going to be more like a 911 than it ever has been before. So the separation isn't as distinct as it used to be.
Amazing car to drive, it was really, really cool. My Porsche is an older one, '87, so kind of a big difference just in power. It just flat went out. There was no hesitation, no anything. So it was terrific.
I loved it. The drive is just great. It gives you that Porsche feel. What a way to spend a Saturday with cars and a little food.
It's official, we are done today. It's a wrap.

To add to that, we had a GT40, GTR, Aston Martin and few other favorites in the supercar world.
