Washington Week in Milwaukee: Debate Analysis from the Site of the Democratic DebateJust 24 hours after Democrats Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders squared off in their sixth debate, we examine the state of the 2016 presidential campaign from the site of the PBS NewsHour debate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After a double-digit loss in New Hampshire, the former secretary of state is aiming to blunt Sanders' momentum and stake claim to the first southern state primary in South Carolina on February 27. On the Republican side, polls show Donald Trump continues to dominate the narrowing GOP field after a decisive victory in New Hampshire. Ohio Gov. John Kasich's come-from-behind second place finish in the Granite State has scrambled the race for the Republican nomination.
How to Stay Calm When You Know You'll Be Stressed | Daniel Levitin | TED TalksYou're not at your best when you're stressed. In fact, your brain has evolved over millennia to release cortisol in stressful situations, inhibiting rational, logical thinking but potentially helping you survive, say, being attacked by a lion. Neuroscientist Daniel Levitin thinks there's a way to avoid making critical mistakes in stressful situations, when your thinking becomes clouded — the pre-mortem. "We all are going to fail now and then," he says. "The idea is to think ahead to what those failures might be."

Sir Ken Robinson: Do schools kill creativity?
Clifford Stoll: The call to learnhttp://www.ted.com Clifford Stoll could talk about the atmosphere of Jupiter. Or hunting KGB hackers. Or Klein bottles, computers in classrooms, the future. But he's not going to. Which is fine, because it would be criminal to confine a man with interests as multifarious as Stoll's to give a talk on any one topic. Instead, he simply captivates his audience with a wildly energetic sprinkling of anecdotes, observations, asides -- and even a science experiment. After all, by his own definition, he's a scientist: "Once I do something, I want to do something else."
Joachim de Posada: Don't eat the marshmallow!http://www.ted.com In this short talk from TED U, Joachim de Posada shares a landmark experiment on delayed gratification -- and how it can predict future success. With priceless video of kids trying their hardest not to eat the marshmallow.
