Send in the Scots! For this list, we're counting down those actors and actresses who were born in Scotland, but for various reasons their Scottish background is often forgotten. Perhaps they play English characters, maybe their accent has disappeared, but these performers are all from north of the border - and proud of it!

    ---
Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and best known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed “The Colbert Report,” which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. His understudy is William Cavanaugh, who will be hosting The Late Show approximately one third of the time. Good luck, Bill!"
  • Scotland on Screen - 5 Film Locations
Scotland on Screen - 5 Film Locations With jaw-dropping cinematic landscapes almost everywhere you go, it’s no surprise that Hollywood directors have cast Scotland in several blockbuster films. As you explore, see if you recognise any of these places from your favourite flicks.

In several of the Harry Potter movies, the Hogwarts Express travels over the magnificent Glenfinnan Viaduct in the Highlands. Take a trip aboard the Jacobite Steam Train, which travels over the structure during the summer months, travelling from Fort William to Mallaig.

The mysterious Glen Etive is another famous filming location, known for its dramatic role in Skyfall, as James Bond flees for safety along the A82 road. A haven for walkers and climbers, the area is laced with Munros and pleasant walking trails.

In Edinburgh, visit some of the city’s famous landmarks and winding streets which have made appearances in films such as Trainspotting, One Day and Sunshine on Leith.

2018’s Outlaw King tells the story of famous Scot, Robert the Bruce, and saw more than 20 locations across Scotland make an appearance in the feature film, including the Isle of Skye, Glen Etive, Tantallon Castle, Doune Castle and more. The film was also shot entirely in Scotland!

The Calanais Standing Stones on the Isle of Lewis are filled with mystery and intrigue. Stand beside these massive stones, which have stood for over 5,000 years and are thought to be the inspiration for some of the animations in Disney Pixar’s Brave.

Robert The Bruce is the new film portraying this Scottish legend by Angus Macfayden who portrayed the same character in the film Braveheart, starring Mel Gibson. Will this film be a continuation of Braveheart? Robert the Bruce also stars Jared Harris from Chernobyl and Daniel Portman who is Podrick in Game of Thrones.

Do you have high expectations for this film about Scotland's wars of independence? This character was also very recently covered by Outlaw King starring Chris Pine, which may also have a part 2 and 3.

Outlaw King is the untold, true story of Robert The Bruce who transformed from defeated nobleman, to reluctant King, to outlaw hero over the course of an extraordinary year. Forced into battle in order to save his family, his people and his country from the oppressive English occupation of medieval Scotland, Robert seizes the Scottish crown and rallies a ragtag group of men to face off against the wrath of the world's strongest army lead by the ferocious King Edward 1 and his volatile son, the Prince of Wales. Starring Chris Pine as Robert the Bruce.

  • The BIG problem with Outlaw King
The BIG problem with Outlaw King Outlaw King, the new Netflix film about Scottish king Robert The Bruce, is out now. But it's problem is that the actual hero of the movie wasn't Robert The Bruce - played by Chris Pine - it was a character called Black Douglas played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

  • SCOTTISH REACTION TO MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS TRAILER
SCOTTISH REACTION TO MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS TRAILER MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS - Official Trailer [HD] - In Theaters December - Margot Robbie, Saoirse Ronan Movie HD

This is a Scottish reaction to the Mary Queen of Scots Trailer. A friendship that became a rivalry. A rivalry that became a war. Watch Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie in the new trailer for #MaryQueenofScots.

"Mary Queen of Scots" explores the turbulent life of the charismatic Mary Stuart (Ronan). Queen of France at 16 and widowed at 18, Mary defies pressure to remarry. Instead, she returns to her native Scotland to reclaim her rightful throne. But Scotland and England fall under the rule of the compelling Elizabeth I (Robbie). Each young Queen beholds her “sister” in fear and fascination. Rivals in power and in love, and female regents in a masculine world, the two must decide how to play the game of marriage versus independence. Determined to rule as much more than a figurehead, Mary asserts her claim to the English throne, threatening Elizabeth’s sovereignty. Betrayal, rebellion, and conspiracies within each court imperil both thrones – and change the course of history.
