Checkered Rolling Pin on a Laser - Quick Cuts - Episode 20 Did you know you can use a CO2 laser to make patterned designs on your cookies or dough? This episode of quick cuts shows how we used a laser to engrave a custom rolling pin for baking! We put an average wooden rolling pin on the fourth axis attachment for our lasers and etched out a diamond checkered design around it. The result is a clean, symmetrical diamond pattern that is sure to wow any dinner guest!

In this quick cut we customized a mug for an employee who is a fan of the show Twin Peaks. We used a rotary turner on the SmartShop® EC Laser to get a proper engraving on the mug. The employee then took the mug home and painted in the black that you can see in the final shots.
