Volunteer Nation / Trailer
BanditsIn celebration of Banned Book Week, this short was created by the Cinematography students at Cal State Monterey Bay in 2013. We were given access to the campus library and shot everything in a three hour window. I teach the class and directed and edited the piece. Shot on a Sony Z7U with a Red Rock lens converter. Enjoy!

Your FutureThis 30 second spot was created by the Cinematography class at Cal State Monterey Bay. It was nationally broadcast on CBS sports during the women's basketball game against San Bernardino State. In a nutshell, the Marketing department on campus asked us to produce a spot, student's pitched their ideas, and the best one was produced.
FramedAn exquisite-corpse story of a film show gone wrong.
I was inspired by Mike Walsh's play by play of the event, so I asked him to do it again while I filmed. Afterward,I looked for anybody else who had was there to get their account. It took about two days to film, three days to edit, and then it was done.
Volunteer Nation / Super Tuesday TurnoutA look at the inspired volunteers of the Obama and Clinton campaigns and their rush to get out the vote for Super Tuesday. This pilot episode was created for the web series, Volunteer Nation.
Sorry, I Can't Talk Right Now
lesbianfilmMembers of the lesbianfilm collective (Dan Janos, Mocha Jean Herrup, Evie Leder, Gretchen Lee) set out to make a lesbian film, a 35mm feature length project that is sure to "sell, sell, sell." At the end of the day the group has managed to debunk identity politics, pitch the festival programmers, and secure numerous donations from unsuspecting patrons of the arts. In true indie fashion, the pitch is customized depending on who is on the receiving end--thoroughly mining the many genres and clichés of contemporary lesbian filmmaking.
