After The MusicThe City of West Hollywood celebrates the holiday season each year with a special holiday card. This year, in addition to a digital card, the City of West Hollywood has produced an imaginative and touching two-and-a-half-minute video called “After The Music.” This video animates a poem written especially for the holidays by the new West Hollywood City Poet Laureate Brian Sonia-Wallace.
West Hollywood City Poet Laureate Brian Sonia-Wallace created the poem “After The Music” to address the feelings of hope, connecting and coping with isolation during this very unusual holiday season. The video combine the poem, read aloud by the poet himself, with animations and artwork from Zoo Crew Productions and Steven Rahbany.

Poem: I Sing The Body West Hollywood by West Hollywood City Poet Laureate Kim DowerWest Hollywood City Poet Laureate Kim Dower (2016-2018) solicited lines from hundreds of community members in West Hollywood and weaved those words together into two citywide collaborative poems: “West Hollywood is for Dreamers” and “I Sing The Body West Hollywood,” The latter poem was turned into a five-minute animated video, which incorporates the poem as narrated by Kim Dower; artwork by local artist Miguel Andrisani; and music from Derek Monteiro, Audiomoe, and Aaron Colbert.

I Envy The Ocean }{A Poetry Short Film}{A Visual Poem}.This is a Visual Short Poem Written, Directed, and Filmed by myself....
it is about the luxuries and the grace we SHOULD give to humanity when it comes to depression, anxiety, mental health, and our earthly woes--
and how we have to be able to cultivate a space in which people can crash down, fall apart, feel as if they are nothing, be ashamed for it--and then they can rise again like the oceans waves do...
