How BLACK EGYPT BECAME WHITE.This Brother Breaks Down How BLACK EGYPT BECAME WHITE.
The question of Egypt's Africaness is no longer in question. In fact, Egypt was considered an African culture until the 1800s when white supremacist decided it was to their advantage to claim otherwise. Since that time the general public has presumed that Egypt was a culture that derived its roots from the Middle East, although scholars know otherwise.
Much of Egypt's religious beliefs, philosophy, traditions, kingship, architecture, musical instruments, totemism, art and circumcision rights were undeniably African.1
Diodorus (63BC-14AD), an ancient Greek historian, recorded the popular belief that Egypt was an Ethiopian colony:
"The Ethiopians (black people), as history relates, were the first of all men…They also say that the Egyptians are colonists sent out by the Ethiopians, Osiris having been the leader of the colony…And the larger part of the customs of the Egyptians are, they hold, Ethiopian, the colonists still preserving their ancient manners. For instance, the belief that their kings are gods, the very special attention which they pay to their burial, and many other matters of a similar nature are Ethiopian practices, while the shapes of their statues and the forms of their letters are Ethiopian."2
Diodorus agreed with the tradition. He wrote that the Egyptians, "are colonists sent out by the Ethiopians….and the larger part of the custom of the Egyptians, these historians hold, are Ethiopian colonists still preserving their ancient manners.http://endingstereotypes.org/was_egyptian_culture_african.html(ENDING STEREOTYPES FOR AMERICA)
Top 10 Shocking Facts About The Slave TradeThe Top 10 Shocking Facts About the Slave Trade. The Atlantic Slave Trade was one of the most brutal periods of slavery in history.
More than 12 million slaves from Africa were forced across the Atlantic Ocean to work as slaves in the USA, the Caribbean, Brazil and the wider Americas.
We have created a top list of the Top 10 most shocking facts about the slave trade. Movies such as Amistad, 12 years and several slave trade documentaries have shed a light on some of the tragedies of American slavery. This video focuses on the Atlantic Slave Trade that started in Africa where millions of Africans captured in tribal wars where sold to European slave traders, who took them on a cruel and harsh journey across the Atlantic on slave ships. This journey was known as the slave trade middle passage. Many slave died on slave ships during the middle passage from disease, starvation, mistreatment and and were thrown into the Atlantic Ocean, while others committed suicide or were killed by their slave ship masters.
On arriving in USA, the Caribbean, Brazil and other parts of South America many slaves were forced to work on slave plantations under terrible conditions, working 18 hours a day, from sunrise to sunset. Such was the harshness of the working conditions, many slave died prematurely from beatings of their slave maters or sheer exhaustion.
American slave trade history reveals some of the despicable ways in which Africans slaves were treated in America.
However only 5% of all African slaves from the slave trade were taken to America, the number of African American slaves rose quickly in comparison to Brazil where 40% of all slaves from the African slave trade were taken to. The reason for the difference in the two is said to be the extreme harshness and brutality of the work that slaves in Brazil had to endured in comparison to African American slaves, leading to a higher mortality rate among Afro Brazilian slaves, and the need for more and more slave needing to be imported from Africa to Brazil across the middle passage.
