Digital Wish is a national nonprofit on a mission to empower educators and supporters to connect and cooperatively solve classroom technology shortfalls.
Teachers register, create a "wish list" of technology products, similar to a gift registry, and use the tools found at www.digitalwish.org to reach out to supporters. Supporters can buy wish list items for schools or make cash contributions for technology. Rather than demand a fee from supporters, Digital Wish charges fees to manufacturers. Supporters transparently see that 100% of their funding has benefited their favorite school.
Teachers develop strategies, make friends, and collaborate. Digital Wish strives to provide educators the most comprehensive resource for technology integration on the internet.

Adopt-A-Classroom makes it easy for people to adopt specific classrooms online, providing partnership, support and funding for much-needed supplies. The challenges of teaching have become so great, and the resources so scarce, that it is difficult for classroom teachers on their own to enable students to succeed. Lack of resources undermines teacher success and ultimately student success.
Adopt-A-Classroom has raised over $16 million on behalf of classrooms in underserved schools in all 50 states, impacting 2.5 million students. 100% of classroom donations are passed through to the teacher. Our operations are supported by unrestricted contributions from businesses, foundations and individuals.
Adopt-A-Classroom is very much the Philanthropy 2.0 model with a robust website community that takes advantage of technology and social media. The Adopt-A-Classroom community includes over 85,000 registered teachers, 30,000 donors, and 10,000 agents (e.g., school administrators, PTA representatives). Indirectly, our community of users reaches 2 million parents and other community stakeholders.

WeAreTeachers Grant Winner Carrie SCarrie won a $200 grant from WeAreTeachers and LeapFrog School for her idea on how to inspire students to read over the summer. Carrie's school hosted a summer reading program, that included story time, computer activities, and weekly prize drawings for free books. The grant money was used to purchase materials that would be needed for the program.
