Nissan's Nürburgring Meister Talks GT-R NISMOHiroyoshi Kato, Technical Meister at Nissan, is a veteran test driver. His experience in vehicle evaluation at the "Green Hell" starts in 1988 for the development of R32 GT-R. Along with the racing drivers Michael Krumm, Sébastien Buemi, Armin Hahne and Testuya Tanaka, he was a part of development team for the NISSAN GT-R NISMO, which marked 7:08.679 -- fastest lap ever for a volume production car in September 30, 2013. (Interview filmed July 2013)
独ニュルブルクリンクで量販車世界最速の7:08.679というタイムを記録し、今年２月より発売のNISSAN GT-R NISMO。開発チームにはレーシングドライバーたちと並んで日産で唯一「テクニカル・マイスター」という職位を持つテストドライバー加藤博義がいました。黄綬褒章や厚労省「現代の名工」に表彰された彼は、ニュルでの長年の経験を生かし、プロジェクトやコースの安全管理やレーシングドライバーとエンジニアを繋ぐ橋渡しなど活躍しました。
