ATTENTION explores the power of "rhetorical technologies" like cinema and storytelling to capture and manage attention.. Attention is required for any kind of interpersonal persuasion, transformation or growth--- so deep immersion matters!<br />

ONE SHOT. ONE LIFE Trailer by Empty Mind FilmsThe pursuit of excellence through the art of Japanese Archery or Kyudo - 'the way of the bow'. Over six years ago we posted a kyudo video which received many comments, most of which focused on the master archer missing the target. For many people it is hard to separate success from not hitting the target. In our new film, One Shot. One Life, one of the kyudo masters is very accurate... he simply never misses the target. Yet he states: "The techniques for facing and hitting the target are quite simple. I used to be a national team member, and at that time I had to hit the target no matter what, practicing until my hands turned black. Eventually all that technique became obsolete in exchange for the ability to express myself through the bow."<br />
In our film this master archer prepares for the extremely difficult 8th dan grading, whose pass rate is below 1%. But for all his ability to hit the target, can he pass this strict examination? We leave you with more quotes from our film that offer insight into the art of Japanese archery...<br />
"Even if we dedicate a lifetime, we will not be able to master it. If we keep this in our mind we can continue further. This is one of the things I was taught by my Sensei and I will not forget. I strive to practice everyday feeling like a beginner. <br />
My Sensei often said "when we face the target we are facing ourselves as a mirror". It is wrong if we do not face the target in this manner. Ultimately, no technique is left, no form is left, nothing but the archer's humanity remains. For the observer, this is very beautiful. It makes you feel admiration for that person's handling of the bow."<br />

From the makers of All.I.Can comes the new feature film: INTO THE MIND. Blur the lines between dream state and reality, as you perceive the world through the minds of many. Into the Mind contemplates the experiences passed between mentors and peers to paint a philosophical portrait of human kind. What drives us to overcome challenge? How do we justify risk? What forces are at the core of a mountain addiction? Unique athlete segments over a multitude of mountain sport genres depict the connectivity of Earth, and window into never seen before moments. Explore how we begin our perception of self, construct the foundations of confidence, and are ultimately led up the path of self-actualization.<br />
<br />
As Buddha once said, “The mind is everything. What you think you become.” <br />
Into The Mind is about becoming.<br />

The Science of MindfulnessProfessor Mark Williams examines the neuroscience of mindfulness in the second of four short videos.
We live in a world filled with material wealth, live longer and healthier lives, and yet anxiety, stress, unhappiness, and depression have never been more common. What are the driving forces behind these interlinked global epidemics? In this series, Professor Mark Williams (Wellcome Trust Principal Research Fellow at Oxford University) and Dr Danny Penman discuss the recent scientific advances that have radically altered our understanding of depression and related disorders. Also discussed is the latest treatments and therapies that are offering hope to those suffering from depression. Professor Williams co-developed Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), a treatment for anxiety, stress and depression that is at least as effective as drugs at preventing new episodes of depression. It's now one of the preferred treatments for depression recommended by the UK's National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence. The same technique, based upon an ancient form of meditation, can also help us cope more effectively with the relentless demands of our increasingly frantic world. Professor Williams and Dr Penman co-authored the bestselling book Mindfulness: Finding Peace in a Frantic World.
Andy Puddicombe: All it takes is 10 mindful minutesWhen is the last time you did absolutely nothing for 10 whole minutes? Not texting, talking or even thinking? Mindfulness expert Andy Puddicombe describes the transformative power of doing just that: Refreshing your mind for 10 minutes a day, simply by being mindful and experiencing the present moment. (No need for incense or sitting in strange positions.)
