Chicago CDFI Collaborative - PRO NeighborhoodsWith support from the JPMorgan Chase Foundation, three Chicago CDFIs came together to revitalize communities, rehabilitate distressed properties, and provide affordable housing in low- and moderate-income neighborhoods. Community Investment Corporation, Chicago Community Loan Fund, and Neighborhood Lending Services discuss their collaboration and the impact of leveraging $41 million in private investment to redevelop almost 600 units of affordable housing.
Revitalizing The West Chicago Avenue CorridorWest Chicago Avenue, a commercial stretch just minutes from downtown Chicago, has high vacancy rates, high crime and poverty rates and lots of neglected commercial space.
With the help of Partners in Progress, the Chicago Community Loan Fund and the West Humboldt Park Family and Community Development Council are working with residents and businesses to bring economic vitality to the corridor.
