In this video, I briefly explain the situation, as well as touching on some of the key issues that were discussed by the Yes and No supporters.

April 2014 - Scotland's Future Alex Salmond...30 minutes - Scotland's Future: SNP Conference at Aberdeen 12 April 2014. The First Minister of Scotland Alex Salmond again tell Scots that a Yes vote is not about the SNP but about Scotland governing itself. Alex Salmond appeals to all Scots whatever their politics are they should vote Yes for an independent Scotland instead of Scotland being controlled by a Westminster Government that Scotland had not voted for.
Scotland's Future in the Balance | JournalWith the referendum result too close to call, voters in Scotland may be choosing between two versions of Scotland's future. The most hotly debated issues include the economic basis of an independent state, its currency and potential membership in the EU.

THE BIGGER THE LIE - Media Bias in the Scottish Independence ReferendumAn exclusive look into mainstream media bias and the techniques they use to influence the independence debate.
'The Bigger The Lie’ focuses on the significant research of Professor John Robertson into media bias during the Scottish Independence Referendum. The film covers Professor Robertson’s meticulous approach to the research and the subsequent suppression by the mainstream media of his findings. Overall, the findings did uncover general evidence of bias and particularly repetition of 'bad news'. The techniques used such as sequencing of stories, reliance on sources such as the Treasury, OBR and IFS, demonisation of First Minister Alex Salmond and use of 'experts' were all more telling. This film might just change the way you look at the BBC’s coverage of Scotland’s most important political event.
Professor Robertson promotes the idea of greater political transparency of those offering media opinion on the debate. As the filmmaker of this work I have never been very political in the past. I am a former Labour and SNP voter who will be deciding on Yes because I believe this is a great opportunity to achieve a more equal, wealthier and, above all, democratic Scottish nation.
Professor Robertson's Facebook page:
Director of BBC Scotland Ken MacQuarrie, Head of News and Current Affairs John Boothman, the Head of Commonwealth Games 2014 Bruce Malcolm and the Editor of the Referendum Unit John Mullin giving evidence to the Education and Culture Committee.
The session includes response to Prof Robertson's research, complaints from the public and some unusual staffing arrangements for coverage of the referendum that included making 35 regular members of staff redundant.

Protest Against BBC Scotland Referendum BiasProtest Against BBC Scotland Referendum Bias @ BBC Pacific Quay Glasgow 01/06/14 https://www.facebook.com/events/409655642510468/
Features interviews with Yes Supporters on their experiences of bias and views on BBC coverage of the independence debate.
There will be another protest this month on 29 June at 14:00--15:30. 1.5 THOUSAND PEOPLE are going so far and this will rise. Get yourself along and be part of the peaceful protest. Thanks for information, Monmedia.
Jennifer Stewart from Coatbridge, who is featured in the film, wrote about her decisions to vote Yes. Jennifer's letter has already had 11000 views and you can now read it here:
My name is Jennifer Stewart and I have now been residing in Scotland for nearly 6 years. I am English born and bred and have spent most of my life living in The English Riviera (Paignton) with my family and friends. I am writing this piece as I have been asked many a time if I get a vote being English and why am I voting Yes in the referendum because of my nationality.
When I first became aware of a referendum on independence my thoughts were, well Im English so 'no way'. I thought it would be the wrong thing to do. However I consider myself to be an open-minded person and so I started to research into the details on either side of the debate and ask questions of fellow voters to try and get a better idea of what I'd be voting for. I soon discovered that this wasn't an anti English vote at all. Some people call the SNP 'a bunch of English hating racists' however all I see is a party that has an issue with Scotland being run from Westminster not once have a heard any English racist comments. Anyways I am not voting for SNP I am voting for Independence. Indpendence for Scotland comes down to one major question, in my opinion, do you want the country that you live in to be run by politicians that you have voted for and want the best for your country? We know that there will be no land of milk and honey come a yes vote on the 19th September and there will be mistakes made but they will be our mistakes and it will be up to us to fix them. Is that not what being independent is all about.
I visit Devon often to see my family and friends and have spoken to them regarding their opinion on the Independence referendum. My mum found it quite hard to believe that the Conservatives have only 1 seat in Scotland and that Scotland have a massive Labour vote in Westminster and said "well why wouldn't Scottish people vote for independence so they can be run by politicians they have voted in". She also stated that if she ever had the oportunity to vote for breaking away from Westminster she'd jump at it. Other friends assumed that Scotland was already being fully ran from Edinburugh and couldn't believe we were dictated to by Westminster. I am very close to my family and friends and find that the better togethers notion that post independence they will become foreigners to me would be insulting if it wasn't so laughable. Having lived and worked in many different countries over the years as a foreigner (including Scotland, if you listened to BT)I find the idea that being a foreigner is a dirty thing both hurtful and insulting. Unfortunately this seems to reflect the direction that Westminster politics is taking.
Scotland has the people, resources and ingenuity to prosper. We should be asking why isn't Scotland doing better, given all the natural and human wealth we enjoy, why are their so many people struggling and foodbanks opening left right and centre.
I could sit and write all the reasons to vote yes but many people have already done so. I felt like I had to try and get my point across to other English people living in Scotland that this is not an anti English vote in September. Also for any Scots that are still undecided know that your vote is for the future of you, your children and grandchildren and if you want that future to be brighter and more prosper then vote yes with me in September
The film features interviews with Yes Supporters on their experiences of bias and views on BBC coverage of the independence debate. They also give their views on the BBC post-Yes and there is a clear and unanimous desire for change. I am always impressed with the articulacy and depth of the views given.
This is the follow up protest that saw numbers grow from a few hundred to over 2000. There was a great festival feel to the Protest with speakers and song. The protest was more of an occupation with people filling the entire facing square and entrance at Pacific Quay. As usual the Protest was made up of a huge variety of people and there were plenty of families with children. Credit to Police Scotland who did an outstanding job, waiting by calmly in the background and chatting with Protesters.
I had a person keeping a rough head count. While it is difficult to be accurate at an open event like this, there was a core of around 1,600, an additional estimated 5-600 came and went over the two hour period. The BBC reported the event and stated there was 'several hundred' protesters then denied any bias coverage of the referendum debate.
Two organisations emerged losers after the Scottish 2014 independence referendum. YES Scotland won praise after narrowly failing to overturn a thirty point deficit. The other loser was the BBC. The British State broadcaster sacrificed its reputation in return for a narrow win for the No campaign. London Calling captures the descent of the BBC during Scotland's historic referendum period. A two year orgy of spin, deceit, manipulation and corruption has been packaged into a powerful seventy minute documentary exposé. Thought you could trust the BBC? Prepare to be shocked.
WRITING OFF SCOTLAND - Press Bias in the Independence ReferendumWRITING OFF SCOTLAND explores the research of Dr David Patrick into press bias during the independence campaign. Carried out over Scotland's most politically important year in centuries, the study's findings are a shocking indictment of the role of the UK press in the independence debate. We all know newspapers take political positions but, uniquely for a western democracy, the entire press industry united against independence in an intense systematic propaganda campaign to save the union. In the film, Dr Patrick discusses the framing of the referendum and how front pages, editorial and commentary are used to get key messages across, the lack of media coverage for the research, strange BBC experience and how the Independence debate has damaged public trust in our press.
RT also spoke to Rev. Stuart Campbell whose Wings Over Scotland site was taken down.
