Is Chiropractic bad for you. What is bad about chiropractic? Is chiropractic treatment dangerous?Today Dr. Fisher talks about how to address new patients who might have heard something negative about chiropractic and helping them to get over the fear or false information which might prevent them from getting the care they need. Dr. Fisher suggests to not take any of the negative comments about chiropractic personally as they probably have nothing to do with you or your practice. Remember the goal is to help your patients so make it your purpose to educate them past the Black PR.... so you can reach a level playing field where they will listen to you and grow to trust you. During your new patient first visit it is critical to handle any of these concerns before you go any further as some people might be hung up on their fears and unwilling to listen or try treatments that they will need. During your consultation your first question to a new patient should be...."So what have you heard about chiropractic good or bad or have you ever been to a chiropractor or what do you know about chiropractic" any of these questions can break the ice or get the ball rolling towards helping them!
What is the popping or cracking sound during a chiropractic adjustment? Cracking your neck.Today Dr. Fisher offers a fun tip on how you can educate your patients on what the popping sound is during an adjustment or spinal manipulation...."cavitation" is that scary popping/cracking sound you hear during adjustments. Children will be able to understand the physics behind how and why you hear the popping or cracking sound during an adjustment. Cavitation is the suction release between bones that are stuck together in the spine before they are released by your chiropractor's treatment which restores normal motion and position of your spinal bones. Cracking and popping of the bones is not damaging the spine....it's natural and it feels good. #cracking the back #cracking the spine # popping bones #chiropractic adjustment #popping the spine
Should patients listen to their doctor? How to be a good patient. How to help your doctor.Today Dr. Fisher talks about why chiropractors need to perform a new patient consultation, examination and take x-rays to properly determine what is wrong with their patients before they administer treatment. Some new patients who are afraid of costs want to minimize their conditions to minimize their amount of treatment by attempting to dictate their own care by their doctor. As a doctor you can not allow your patients to direct their care as it will set you up for liability. Train your staff so they know how to handle patients who want to control their own care without being properly evaluated first.

Is chiropractic real? Is chiropractic a Myth? Does chiropractic work? The truth behind chiropractic.Today Dr. Fisher talks about the "reality" of chiropractic care! Do you believe in chiropractic.... like you believe in the tooth fairy or Santa Claus or ghosts? Chiropractic is real and chiropractors are real. Don't let the public refer to chiropractic as if you have to believe in it for it to work....facts speak for themselves and so does the research which shows that there is more physical sciences behind chiropractic care than there is behind medicine which is mainly based upon chemistry which is a far less precise science than physics, mechanical engineering, neurology and how they interact with the human body. Don't let people get sucked into myths used to create confusion and doubt regarding the efficacy of chiropractic treatments. Chiropractic adjustments do not treat cancer or the common cold nor do chiropractors suggest to our patients that these are the conditions we treat like some MD's and PT's would lead you to believe. Chiropractic is relieving nerve interference through chiropractic adjustments that restore normal motion and position of spinal bones that irritate or compress spinal nerves.....it's as simple as that. There should be no mystery behind chiropractic as long as you look at the results and the science which it is based upon. The principles of spinal treatments chiropractors provide to the modern day patients actually originated 1000's of years ago from the Chinese and Greek empires.

Why do chiropractors need x-rays on the first visit? Chiropractic xrays. Do patients need xrays?Today Dr. Fisher talks about the importance of x-rays before adjustments and how to speak to your new patients over the phone before they schedule their first appointment. Have your staff inform patients they will need X-rays on their first visit if they have a spinal condition or your doctor will not be able to adjust them safely. Do not go to a chiropractor that doesn't take x-rays or require x-rays before they start pushing on your spine attempting spinal manipulation. Prevent injuries by taking x-rays on patient's spines before you start adjusting them. Justify your treatment, protect your patient and protect yourself by taking x-rays on all new patients with spinal related conditions before your start manupulating their spines. If a mechanic doesn't start working on a car until he looks under the hood why would you start adjusting your patient's spines without seein what their spine looks like through x-rays. X-rays are safe, inexpensive and incredibly helpful at diagnosing many contra-indications to spinal manipulation. Ask your chiropractor why they don't take x-rays. If your chiropractor can't afford x-ray in their office go find another chiropractor who is more successful and can afford to protect his or her patients with a machine that can save your life! What's safer getting adjusted blind or seeing what you're going to push on in the spine before you do it? X-ray exposure is no reason to not take X-rays unless youre pregnant but hospitals will x-ray pregnant moms if it's necessary. It's more dangerous to get adjusted without x-rays than to have x-rays taken. In 30 years Dr Fisher has never had a malpractice claim filed against him because he x-rayed virtually all of his new patients or required them to bring in films before he adjusted them. Corrective care needs x-rays to see how your spine needs to be corrected.

Don't talk over your patient's head! Patient education is the key to success. How to help patients.Today Dr. Fisher talks about how important it is for the doctor to communicate at a level where the patient can understand their condition enough to make the correct choices to help themselves. For a person to take control over their own health they must be in a position to take responsibility for themselves and the only way is through being educated. As a doctor you are a teacher and if you fail to educate your patients sufficiently about their condition so they can make the right decisions than you've failed as a practitioner. Speak to your patients at their level of understanding do not try to impress them with your knowledge it will mean nothing if they don't receive the care they need. You can turn patients away from talking over their heads or talking down to them like children...speak at their level. Ask them questions and ask them if they have questions. Insure you have a two way communication and dialogue as if you're playing catch with a ball. Throw the ball/question so who you're playing with can catch it/receive it and stay at a distance where they can reach you back. Good communication is when you both have a clear understanding of the messages each of you are trying to pass over to each other. The bottom line is understanding...without it you have noting.
