How to repair an engine block or radiator leak with K&W® Block SealMore Info:
http://www.stopautoleaks.com/products/block-seal-permanent-metallic-block-radiator-seal/
Leaks from your engine block & radiator can be time consuming to fix not to mention very expensive, but with K&W Permanent Metallic™ Block Seal, you can fix the problem yourself and get back on the road without an expensive repair bill. Its guaranteed. Engine block and radiator leaks can show up as a lot of different symptoms. Such as colored fluid dripping from your exhaust, white smoke coming from your exhaust pipe, a greasy film on the inside of your windshield which gets worse with the defroster on, a colored liquid dripping on the passenger floor from under the dash, a milky substance on your oil cap or dipstick or bubbles in the radiator recovery tank sometimes seen from coming out from under the recovery tank cap. K&W Block Seal can help. Block Seal creates a permanent molecular bond that's as strong as steel. It can seal cracks and holes in cast iron and aluminum engine blocks, head gaskets and freeze plugs. As well as aluminum bi-material radiators and heater cores. And even though most do-it-yourselfers can use it successfully, Block Seal is a professional grade formula that withstands extreme pressure and temperatures. Before you start gather your tools and read all of the product instructions. Not following directions exactly could cause severe engine damage. First: We're going to drain the cooling system to remove any antifreeze. Block Seal contains sodium silicate which is not compatible with antifreeze. So remember do not add it to antifreeze, your engine oil or fuel. With the engine cool remove the thermostat and radiator cap. Then, replace the thermostat housing. Set the heater control to maximum heat and idle the engine until its warm. Turn off the engine and then drain the radiator. Make sure to observe local laws and regulations for proper disposal. Do not pour coolant on the ground or in a storm drain. Close the radiator drain and refill the radiator with water. Idle for 5 minutes to flush any excess antifreeze from the system. Turn off the engine and drain the cooling system. Repeat this process until the water runs clear. For best results, flush the cooling system with K&W 7 minute rapid flush cooling system cleaner. Shake the block seal can well and then mix it with 3 quarts hot water in a separate container. Small engines may require less than 3 quarts of hot water mixture. A 1 gallon milk or water container works great. If you've been seeing white smoke in your exhaust or think coolant is leaking into a cylinder remove the spark plugs and check for orange or white crystals or fluid. Remove any effected spark plugs and disable the fuel injection to the effected cylinders before the next step. Add the block seal and water mixture to your radiator. Do not pour the mixture into the overflow tank. If there isn't a radiator cap, detach the upper radiator hose and add the mix directly into the hose, then reattach the hose. Start the engine and immediately top off the cooling system with water. If the vehicle starts to overheat, turn the engine off, allow it to cool, top with water and restart. Replace the radiator cap and reconnect the radiator hose and then idle the engine for 20-30 minutes. Do not drive the vehicle or rev the engine. Stop the engine, let it cool and remove the radiator cap and open the radiator drain. Reinstall any spark plugs you've removed. Drain the cooling system, do not flush. With the radiator cap and drain open, allow the drain cooling system to cure for 24 hours. After Block Seal has been allowed to cure for 24 hours, flush the cooling system with water until it runs clear. Reinstall the thermostat and drain the water. Then refill with fresh antifreeze and water solution at the correct concentration and your good to go. If the leak persists for more than a week, you can repeat the treatment with Block Seal. But, if your loosing more than a half a gallon of coolant in 30 minutes, no cooling system additive will be able to fix your leak and you'll need a professional repair. And if your not comfortable with following these directions, take your can of Block Seal to your favorite repair shop and ask them to service your vehicle with K&W Block Seal. So Stop Leaks and Start Driving with K&W Permanent Metallic™ Block Seal
How To Use CRC GDI Intake Valve & Turbo CleanerIn the past decade, Gasoline Direct Injection engines have become extremely popular with both domestic and import auto manufacturers. Compared to conventional fuel injection, GDI can deliver improved fuel efficiency, more power from smaller engines, and reduced emissions at low load. That’s great! But the popularity of GDI engines has brought back an old service issue – carbon deposits that can rob drivers of horsepower, gas mileage, and smooth operation.
CRC has created a GDI carbon deposit solution that allows you to tackle the problem quickly, easily, and at a very reasonable cost.
CRC GDI IVD Intake Valve & Turbo Cleaner is an aerosol spray that’s applied through the engine’s air intake or throttle body and delivered directly to the backs of the GDI intake valves. CRC GDI Valve & Turbo Cleaner contains the highest concentration of PEA available on the market to provide the fastest, most thorough chemical cleaning available. A single application removes up to 46 percent of carbon deposits in the first 60 minutes.
First, just as you would with any product, read the entire product label before using, so you can understand the instructions and the safety guidelines. Next, warm up the engine. CRC GDI Valve & Turbo Cleaner requires a period of heat soak to work, so you want to start with an engine that’s fully warmed up. Locate the throttle body or air intake and spray product directly through the throttle body. If the throttle body is not easily accessible, spray PAST the mass air flow sensor. But do not spray into the mass air flow sensor assembly. You can also remove the air flow sensor assembly and spray where the sensor is mounted. If the vehicle is turbocharged, you can remove the boost sensor in the charge pipe and spray into the pipe. If it’s easier you can also spry into the vacuum port. Lift the PermaStraw dual-action spray system and lock it into place…. with the engine running at 2000 RPM, spray in short bursts until the can is empty. Once the can is empty, rev the engine 2 to 3 times, but tell them not to exceed 3500 RPM. Run at idle for one minute and then turn the engine off. Reassemble the air intake system and let the engine heat soak for a full hour. The heat soak is critical, so be patient, and let the CRC GDI Valve & Turbo Cleaner do its work. After the hour is up, restart the engine and drive at highway speeds for at least 10 minutes. And remember, as our test show the maximum benefit is achieved when the vehicle is driven regularly over the next several days. So, let your customer know they should drive their car regularly over the next week or so. If you have a vehicle with severe carbon buildup, CRC GDI Valve & Turbo Cleaner can even be used in successive treatments. Just have your customer drive about a thousand miles before a second treatment, in order to get the full benefit of the first treatment.

How To Clean Auto Parts With The CRC® SmartWasher® Self Cleaning Parts Washing SystemUnleash the CRC SmartWasher Bioremediation System! The powerful cleaning of the OzzyJuice degreasing solutions and the cutting edge bioremediation process in the CRC SmartWasher® combine to create an unstoppable force in parts washing. Bioremediation is the use of biological agents such as microbes used to break down or neutralize hazardous substances or contaminants. Similar microbes were used to clean up oil spills in Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico. The CRC SmartWasher has three main components. The parts washer, OzzyJuice, and the OzzyMat. OzzyJuice is a powerful water-based degreasing solution that is non-hazardous, non-flammable, and works on tough greases and oils. The OzzyMat filter is the most important part of the CRC SmartWasher system. Microbes inserted in the filter are activated by the OzzyJuice. Once inside the tank of the unit, the microbes break down the greases and oils cleaned from the dirty parts, creating a harmless by-product of carbon dioxide and water. This bioremediation process keeps your fluid clean and strong for each and every use. OzzyJuice cleans the parts, the microbes clean the OzzyJuice. A great feature of the CRC SmartWasher is that it’s a mobile system so it moves easily though the shop area or can stay in place with locking casters. Once you have the unit in place you are ready to set it up for use. First you Pour in the OzzyJuice, Then, insert the OzzyMat filter. Finally plug in the CRC SmartWasher. The fluid will automatically heat up and you are ready to clean parts. These parts are covered in gunk. We are going to use the heavy duty scrub brush provided with the machine to clean this filthy part. Notice how the grease is easily cleaned off the dirty part with the OzzyJuice. All of this gunk flows through the sink and then through the OzzyMat. Where the microbes are waiting in the tank to start eating contaminants and clean the OzzyJuice so it’s ready to use when you need to clean another dirty part. After just a few minutes of scrubbing this part looks brand new! The CRC SmartWasher is easy to operate and maintain. As long as these simple steps are carried out, there is no hassle or cost to haul away any dirty fluid or waste. For parts washing, the process of bioremediation is the scientific solution of choice for both environmental and employee safety. How To Remove Carbon From Intake Valves & Turbos Using CRC GDI IVD® Intake Valve & Turbo CleanerGDI engines deliver increased power, performance and gas mileage. GDI, or gas direct injection engines, are great engines but they need a bit more periodic maintenance. If you drive one of these vehicles, this is important. Because of their design these engines need treatment with CRC GDI IVD Intake Valve and Turbo Cleaner every 10,000 miles. Here’s why. In traditional port fuel injection or PFI engines, the gasoline washes over the valves, cleaning them in the process. In GDI engines, gasoline is injected directly into the cylinder so it never comes in contact with the intake valves. Without that constant cleaning action, harmful carbon deposits build up on the valves. The result is reduced performance and loss of power. Chunks of carbon can even break off and cause damage to engines and other components. Some methods of removing the carbon involve costly labor- intensive processes. CRC solves this problem easily and affordably with its GDI IVD Intake Valve and Turbo Cleaner, which safely dissolves the carbon deposits without requiring engine teardown. It’s also proven to clean turbo impellers for better turbo performance. Use it every 10,000 miles or before every oil change. Do it yourself or have it done by your local service center. The result will be improved performance and longer engine life for your vehicle.

SmartWasher CRC Parts Washer OverviewSmartWasher is the whole new ball game in parts washers. Think of it as a 60 year old upgrade to the old solvent tank. Users are always surprised how well it works and on so many more applications. It works its best every time you use it, its a much better tool for the user, its safe with no harmful chemicals or fumes, its as green as it gets and makes financial sense. We have all the bases covered. The SmartWasher is a proprietary system involving a special cleaning solution called Ozzy Juice a particulate trap called Ozzy Mat and a naturally occurring process called bioremediation to neutralize or digest grease, oil, and hydrocarbon contaminants. That's where our good friend Ozzy comes in. Ozzy is our nickname for a special blend of microbes, living organisms that safely and effectively neutralize contaminants inside the machine. Ozzy Juice cleans parts, Ozzy Mat traps the bits and Ozzy continually cleans the Ozzy Juice leaving it clean and strong for every use. Ozzy Juice is never hauled away. The fluid that starts in the SmartWasher, stays in it forever as long as two very quick and simple maintenance steps are done. You add to it but you never dump it. Ozzy juice is safe enough for Ozzy's to live in and its safe for humans too. Not flammable, no harmful fumes or volatile organic compounds. Replacing a solvent tank with a SmartWasher eliminates a thousand pounds or more of special or hazardous waste per year. The fact that Ozzy Juice is PH neutral and not volatile, means that it can be used where solvents can't like rubber, plastics, vinyl, painted or clear coated items, even textiles like mechanics gloves. There is just tons of uses that you just wouldn't touch with traditional solvents because they'd be ruined. We make tall claims but we can back it up. Its the kind of thing you really have to try to believe!

CRC Throttle Body & Air Intake Cleaner Instructional VideoThe throttle body in the air intake system controls the air that flows into the engine. The amount of air depends on the position of the gas pedal. If you press the pedal harder then the throttle plate opens wider to give the engine more air, resulting in more power and increased speed.
Eventually, dirt, carbon and other debris buildup inside the throttle body on the throttle plate and butterfly valve, reducing airflow and causing parts to stick. When this happens, you may experience noise at higher engine speeds, fluctuating idle or stalling, rough or slow acceleration, and higher emissions. Throttle Body and Air Intake Cleaner from CRC Industries effectively cleans and removes power robbing gums from air intake components on fuel-injected vehicles.
With the engine off, remove the air intake duct to expose the throttle body. It may be necessary to remove the mass air flow sensor. Place a rag under the throttle body to collect run off. Spray CRC Throttle Body and Air Intake Cleaner in 3 to 5 short bursts, not continuously, manually moving the butterfly valve back and forth as you spray.
Many vehicles have electronic throttle control and use drive-by-wire technology to connect the throttle to the pedal. However, if your vehicle has a throttle cable or linkage, be sure to clean that as well. Brush parts inside and out with a toothbrush then re-spray and wipe down.
If you removed the mass air flow sensor, you may want to take this opportunity to clean it with CRC Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner. Reassemble the mass air flow sensor, air intake duct and filter.
With CRC Throttle Body & Air Intake Cleaner, you’ll experience easier starting, and smoother, more efficient engine performance.

CRC Guaranteed To Pass on MAV tv's Two Guys GarageAs seen on Two Guys Garage on MAV tv: Have you ever failed your emissions test? CRC Guaranteed To Pass is exactly the kind of product you need.
Have you ever been that guy? You know the guy that fails the emissions test? Well this is probably a product that you need. CRC Industries presents the Guaranteed To Pass Emission Test formula and fuel system cleaner. Now what it is, is basically a cleaner. It’s got all kinds of additives in there. Hit your valves, hits your intake; get all that carbon off, all that varnish all that buildup from your entire combustion chamber. And again it’s guaranteed to pass! So you throw it in your tank every 3,000 miles, you can also use it as a fuel system cleaner. So check it out from CRC Industries the Guaranteed to Pass emissions test formula and fuel system cleaner.
CRC GDI IVD™ Intake Valve Cleaner Instructional VideoIt’s a fact that deposits form in every fuel system, but the amount and how quickly they form depend on the quality of fuel and oil used, on personal driving styles and on engine type.
GDI engines are particularly prone to rapid build-up of fuel deposits because they’re never cooled or washed with fuel. Deposits can form in as few as 5,000 to 10,000 miles, restricting proper airflow and increasing engine operating temperatures. These harmful fuel deposits cause a variety of problems, preventing your vehicle from operating properly. Unlike common fuel additives that are diluted into fuel before reaching critical fuel system components, GDI IVD Intake Valve Cleaner from CRC Industries is sprayed directly into the air intake system. This powerful cleaner hits the back of the intake valves at 150 times the concentration of premium fuel additives. Intake Valve Cleaner is proven to remove up to 23% of carbon build-up in the first hour of use. It works in all gas-powered engines, not just GDI. When using Intake Valve Cleaner from CRC, time consuming and costly engine teardown is no longer required to clean intake valves, especially on GDI engines where previously, engine teardown was the only option.
Apply GDI IVD Intake Valve Cleaner with the engine running and at operating temperature. The unique PermaStraw actuator locks into place, preventing the straw from being drawn into the air intake. Remove the air filter cover and locate the MAF sensor between the air box and throttle body. Have someone rev the engine to about 2000 rpms and, engage or lift the PermaStraw Dual-Action Spray System and insert past the MAF sensor. It’s very important that you do not spray the product in front of the MAF sensor. This could cause the system to throw a code.
You may need to disassemble the air intake to spray the product past the MAF sensor. Again, with the engine running at 2000 rpms, spray the product into the air intake behind the MAF sensor, spraying continuously in 30-second intervals until the can is empty. If necessary, accelerate slightly during the application to avoid stalling but don’t exceed 3500 rpms. When the can is empty, accelerate the engine 2 to 3 times but no higher than 3500 rpms. Run at idle for one minute and, then turn the engine off.
After application, reassemble the air intake system and let the engine “heat-soak” for an hour. Restart the engine and drive at highway speeds for about 10 minutes. Using CRC Intake Valve Cleaner will increase power and torque. It stabilizes rough idle and solves rough starting problems. It is highly effective for all gasoline engines and regular use will reduce emissions and improve fuel economy.

CRC GDI IVD™ Intake Valve Cleaner on MAV tv's Two Guys GarageAs seen on Two Guys Garage on MAV tv: Ground Breaking Technology designed for Direct Injection motors!
Ok from CRC Industries this is Intake Valve Cleaner, designed for direct injection motors. Now what happens in direct injection motors is the air and fuel actually come in down stream of the valve but because the PVC system you always have this oil vapor hitting that hot valve and coke sticking to it. Because of this ground breaking technology you can actually spray this cleaner right by the MAF Sensor and it hits that valve at 115 times the concentration of something you would add in your fuel. Check it out from CRC Industries, their Intake Valve Cleaner for direct injection motors.
CRC Intake Valve Cleaner on Motorhead Garage Industry UpdateNewer cars with gasoline direct injected engines get to run a little rough after 5,000-10,000 miles. They build up a lot of carbon particularly on the intake valve because they no longer have the injector and the intake manifold washing that valve. It carbons up and your vehicle loses power, performance and fuel economy.
New CRC GDI IVD™ Intake Valve Cleaner reaches the intake valves at 150X the concentration of premium fuel additives. It’s easy to use - go behind the mass air flow sensor, put the Permastraw into the intake system, spray a 30-second blast with the engine at 2,000 RPMs. CRC Intake Valve Cleaner lifts the carbon off the back side and the face of the intakes valves, helps to clean up the combustion chamber and restores power and performance. Also great for standard PFI gasoline engines! For more info and a $5 rebate, go to http://crcintakevalvecleaner.com
CRC Intake Valve Cleaner on The Daily Buzz 8-20-2014CRC just introduced brand new technology in a product called CRC GDI IVD™ Intake Valve Cleaner.
GDI stands for Gasoline Direct Injection and we’re seeing it on more and more vehicles from top auto makers like Ford, Buick, Honda, Toyota, Kia, BMW and several others.
GDI engines are popular because they have better combustion, resulting in more power and cleaner emissions. And they use less fuel!
GDI engines inject fuel directly into the cylinders for combustion, bypassing the intake valves. And because GDI engines run hotter and harder than conventional PFI (port fuel injected) engines, they’re prone to harmful carbon deposits; especially on intake valves. But you can’t reach GDI intake valves with a fuel additive product, so you need something more.
Even in a newer vehicle, after just 10,000-15,000 miles deposits start to build up and they can really affect your vehicle’s performance.
Some symptoms are hard starting, rough idle, poor acceleration, reduced fuel economy, power loss and excess emissions.
CRC developed a product to clean intake valves in both GDI and PFI engines. For GDI the benefit is that you can now clean those intake valves without needing a technician to disassemble your engine – that's an expensive proposition! Instead you can spray CRC Intake Valve Cleaner into the air intake – and you’re going to notice a difference even in the first hour after you use the product.
Conventional PFI engines don’t have as severe a problem with deposit buildup, but if you haven’t been using fuel additives on a regular basis you’re still accumulating deposits that will affect your engine’s performance. CRC Intake Valve Cleaner reaches the intake valves at 150X the concentration of premium fuel additives, so you’re going to get a real deep clean right where you need it and gain back your power and fuel economy.

Intake Valve Cleaning Volkswagen CRC GDI IVD® Intake Valve CleanerVolkswagen TSI & FSI Engines deliver increased power, performance and gas mileage. They are GDI or gasoline direct injection engines, they're great engines but then need a bit more periodic maintenance. Because of their design, they need treatment with CRC GDI IVD Intake Valve Cleaner every 10,000 miles. Here's why. In traditional port fuel injection or PFI engines, the gasoline washes over valves, cleaning them in the process. Some methods of removing the carbons involve costly labor intensive processes. CRC solves this problem easily and affordably with its GDI IVD Intake Valve Cleaner which safely dissolves the carbon deposits without requiring engine teardown. Use it before every oil change. Do it yourself or have it done by your local service center. The result will be better performance and longer engine life for your Volkswagen.

CAR FIX TV SHOW CRC GDI IVD Intake Valve CleanerCRC makes an intake valve cleaner for your GDI engine. GDI = gasoline direct injection. That means the gasoline is shot straight to the cylinders unlike your carburetor engines or your older throttle body injection where the gasoline actually washes over the intake valves, keeping them clean - which means the carbon doesn't allow it to build up on it - which means you have good compression. So what you need to do on your GDI engine is spray some CRC in it. This way you can clean the engine out. Better performance and you don't have to tear it down because of carbon build up.
K&W FIBERLOCK Product Demo & Animation, Car Care KioskAS SEEN ON CARCAREKIOSK.COM K&W FiberLock® Head Gasket & Block Repair is an easy-to-use, permanent repair solution that is compatible with all types of antifreeze, just pour & go!
Fiberlock is a permanent sealant solution with a liquid glass base. Is designed as a long-term solution for a coolant leak. Lesser products are semi-permanent and only designed as short term fixes. They can also cost more down the road. If your vehicle has a traditional cooling system with the radiator cap, you can add the sealant directly to the radiator. Otherwise add the sealant directly to the radiator hose. Like we show here. Use a funnel to help avoid unnecessary waste and prevent spills. A half bottle of fiber lock treats up to 10 quarts of engine coolant. The Fiberlock travels through the cooling system until it reaches a crack. The fibers then fill the crack and form a web like weave for strength. As air in the cooling system passes over the patch, the sodium silicate within the Fiberlock hardens to create a permanent seal. Since the cooling system is pressurized the seal will typically get pushed deeper into place. As this happens, additional Fiberlock is pressed in to strengthen the seal and provide additional durability. Replace the upper radiator hose; make sure the hose is attached securely. If you added the Fiberlock directly to the radiator, be sure to replace the radiator cap.
K&W FIBERLOCK Permanent Head Gasket Repair Tech Tip on SPEED Two Guys GarageAs seen on Two Guys Garage on the SPEED channel: Cracked engine blocks and faulty head gaskets are expensive to fix and sometimes aren't worth repairing, depending on the value of your car. K&W FIBERLOCK from CRC Industries is a permanent fix for a cracked block or head gasket. You don't need to drain the cooling system, just Pour in the product and Go. The sodium silicate in FIBERLOCK is reinforced with military-strength fibers that create a web-like weave over the crack for a multi-layer repair. The pressure released towards the crack forces more product to the damaged area and allows FIBERLOCK to cure. Once it cures, the air in the cooling system helps the sodium silicate solidify, making it a permanent repair.
How to repair a cracked engine block or head gasket with K&W FIBERLOCKOverheating can sometimes be caused by a cracked engine block, leaks from the cooling system, coolant leaking past the head gasket. A crack in the engine block could be an expensive repair, but with K&W FiberLock Head Gasket & Block Repair you can be back on the road in 20 minutes. K&W FiberLock is the most advanced product for repairing cracked head gaskets and engine blocks. When there is a crack or hole in your block or cooling system, the pressure in the system causes heat to build up around the crack. FiberLock seeks out the hot spots and seals them permanently with three levels of protection. Military strength fibers create an interlocking web over the breach, nanoparticles fill in and create a solid bond to the metal and Cool-X conditioner keeps your engine running cooler long after the repair is made. FiberLock is compatible with all types of antifreeze.

CRC Battery Cleaner & CRC Battery Terminal Protector on MAV tv's Two Guys GarageAs seen on Two Guys Garage on MAV tv: Tech Tip on how to get the most out of your battery!
They are getting really expensive. So you don’t even notice it sometimes, on occasion you’ll see a battery with water corrosion on the terminals. There’s a lot of damage going on kind of behind the scenes so we got a cleaner from CRC, now this is their battery cleaner, now this is pretty cool stuff. If I spray it out here on the outside you can see its sort of yellowy foam, but if I get kind of on the terminals you can see it turning pink. Now that’s attacking the acid and neutralizing it. That acid is what is eating up the terminals, starting corrosion, resistance, you’re not getting the cranking amps out of it, and you’re straining the battery. So what you want to do is, spray it around the areas, you can see the pink stuff, get your little scrubby out, pop your terminals off, make sure you knock off all the corrosion, all the pinky stuff. Get up underneath there and when you’re all said and done, you want to get behind the scenes. When your all said and done, just come back, give it a little bath, wash it off, nice and clean, towel dry it. Once you put the terminals back on you can come back with a battery terminal protection. A little spray on there will keep it nice and protected for a long time to come. When the pink fades, you know its time to go back and check and re clean it.

CRC Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Cleaner Instructional VideoMost fuel-injected vehicles are equipped with a mass air flow sensor, or “MAF” sensor to measure the amount and density of air entering the engine. This is information the computer uses to determine how much fuel to inject into the engine for combustion as air enters the cylinders. Ignition timing is also affected. The MAF sensor wire gets dirty with accumulated debris, oil, air filter fibers, dust and pollen. This can cause inaccurate readings and negatively affect the air to fuel ratio.
Signs of a dirty MAF sensor could be a check engine light. You may experience a loss of power, stalling, rough idle. Your engine may also be running rich and producing excess emissions. The original Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner from CRC Industries is a unique precision cleaner specifically developed to clean sensitive components in MAF sensors without damaging or degrading plastic or painted surfaces.
Use CRC Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner with the engine off. Always wear gloves and eye protection, and insert the straw into the nozzle before an application. Remove the air filter to gain access to the MAF sensor located between the air box and the throttle body. It is recommended that you remove the sensor for best cleaning, but it’s not absolutely necessary. Place a towel under the MAF to catch any run-off. Using the straw attachment, apply 10 to 15 short bursts of CRC Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner to the hotwire or the hot plate. Be careful not to let the straw, or anything else come in contact with hotwire. Keep the end of the straw 4 to 5 inches from the hotwire. Be sure to spray all sides of the MAF sensor and clean all wires and connectors. Reassemble the MAF and allow to dry thoroughly before restarting the engine.
Often, technicians will try to use throttle body, carburetor, or brake parts cleaners to clean sensitive MAF sensor components. However, these aggressive cleaners can be damaging to plastic, which most MAF sensors are housed in today. If the plastic degrades or warps, the MAF hotwire can shift and malfunction, resulting in expensive repairs. Use only the original Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner from CRC Industries to safely clean the delicate components of the sensor. Regular use will restore horsepower, reduce rough idle, decrease hesitation and pinging and improve gas mileage.
