"I Still Carry You" - Alathea (Official Music Video)How could a simple pillow become such a treasured gift? The answer lies in the value of something so readily available to most, but a rare "luxury" for children and families who live in extreme poverty in Central Appalachia.
In the music video, I Still Carry You, award-winning artist, Alathea, translates the true story of an Appalachia Service Project (ASP) volunteer, Casey Crandall Sperlazzo, into a moving music video. Sperlazzo, a volunteer with Appalachia Service Project since age 14, first wrote the story as a high school essay. When the story was picked-up by editors of the book, "Chicken Soup for the Volunteer's Soul", the story took on a whole new life.
Written by Mandee Radford and Cristi Johnson, the duo known as "Alathea", I Still Carry You was conceived and produced for video by VCPTV for Appalachia Service Project. I Still Carry You was released on Friday, October 25, 2013 as a part of ASP's Work Miracles celebration in Johnson City, Tenn.
