Base Jumping Waterfall accident - Jeb CorlissThis was my first real hard hit in base jumping. This is Howick Falls in the KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It is 364ft high. This jump was early in my base jumping career and probably ended up saving my life in the long run. I was young and just charging hard. I thought I was invincible and I needed a slight readjustment of the way I was thinking.

Death of BASE Jumper Dwain Weston -- Slammed Full Speed Into a BridgeAustralian BASE jumper Dwain Weston was considered one of the world's best at the time. On October 5, 2003 while performing a proximity demonstration, Dwain Weston died slamming full speed into the Royal Gorge Bridge near Canon City in Colorado, USA.
At the time of the impact, Dwain Weston was flying at an estimated 160 km/h speed. Experts believe that Dwain Weston miscalculated his distance from the bridge and misjudged the tricky winds within the narrow gorge. After hitting the railing on what is the highest suspension bridge in the world, the BASE jumper dropped 90 meters onto the rocky bottom of the Royal Gorge.
Dwain Weston was only 30 year old when the incident took place. The slam into the bridge was so strong, it totally disintegrated him. Brutal, but he died doing what he loved. Sheer brutality of the impact along with the fact that Dwain Weston was considered to be the best wingsuiter in the world made his death video the most famous BASE jumping accident in history.

The final flight of wingsuit diver Victor Kovats has been shown on Chinese state television. The Hungarian flyer died when his parachute failed to deploy after he jumped from a mountain cliff 100 metres high up in Zhangjiajie National Park on Tuesday. State news agency Xinhau reported around 200 firefighters and police officers were involved in the search for his body. Initial investigations said the cause of Kovats' accident may have been a "technical problem during the trial." Kovats was an experienced wingsuit flyer having completed 700 flights and 125 skydives since taking up the sport 6 years ago. He was due to take part in the second World Wingsuit Championship this week in Tianmen mountain where participants have to jump from 700-metre-high cliffs. Report by Ashley Fudge.

Yesterday, after blowing my left ACL for a second time 10 months ago I finally got to jump again. I had to get another full ACL reconstruction of my left knee using the patellar tendon from my right knee. The rehab was long and hard this time and I had a set back where I hurt my calf during rehab that made everything take even longer. But now I am finally strong enough to go back to something that has had a truly powerful impact on my existence.
The video is a bit long but I decided to just show a jump from beginning to end with the actual audio from the jump using a new audio communications device allowing me to communicate with my good friend Jhonathan Florez as we fly. The audio is raw and unedited up to landing. People have been asking me for something like this for years so I decided to finally do it for my return.
There was a short time I truly thought I wasn't going to come back this time. The psychological trauma from getting really hurt, spending two years recovering to then blow an ACL a second time on a routine skydiving landing was almost too much...
Yesterday made me very happy. NEVER GIVE UP, EVER...
