Atlantic Starr was formed in Greenburgh, New York in 1976. Among their biggest hits were "Always" and "Secret Lovers." Founding bandmembers were trumpeter Duke Jones (who left the band prior to their first recordings), along with drummer Porter Carroll Jr., bassist Clifford Archer, percussionist and flutist Joseph Phillips, Sheldon Tucker (Guitar; parted ways with the band before the first recordings), and three brothers: David Lewis (vocals/guitar), Wayne Lewis (keyboards and vocals), and Jonathan Lewis (percussion and trombone). The band's membership eventually stabilized around Carroll, Archer, Phillips, the three Lewis brothers, lead singer Sharon Bryant (who was later replaced by Barbara Weathers), trumpeter William Sudderth, and saxophonist Damon Rentie (who was later replaced by Koran Daniels). In 1977, the band came to Westwood, California, and performed on the nightclub scene under the name "Newban," which they agreed to change at the request of A&M executive Herb Alpert when they were signed. Having already agreed to keep the Starr part of an early idea for a new band name, the members decided to add the word Atlantic, because of their East Coast roots. The nine-member band were now A&M employees.

record label CEO while still performing concerts at music venues and assisting with other social media, ministry and outreach functions. Prior to becoming ordained, Hammer signed with Suge Knight's Death Row Records by 1995.
A multi-award winner, M.C. Hammer is considered a "forefather/pioneer" and innovator of pop rap (incorporating elements of freestyle music), and is the first hip hop artist to achieve diamond status for an album. Hammer was later
considered a sellout due in part to overexposure as an entertainer (having live instrumentation/bands, choreographed dance routines and an impact on popular culture being regularly referenced on television and in music) and as a result
of being too "commercial" when rap was "hardcore" at one point, then his image later becoming increasingly "gritty" to once again adapt to the ever-changing landscape of rap. Regardless, BET ranked Hammer as the #7 "Best Dancer Of All

The video featured Hammer and several of his dancers performing in their unique style around the Addams mansion, as well as most of the cast of the film.

Produced & written by Richard himself the single reached as high as #12 on the US charts in that same year. Personally it was a track that I had not heard much of until working on the clip & remastering the audio, during which time I have grown to love the song and develop a deeper appreciation of this mans talents.
Rush Street is an album by Richard Marx, released in 1991. "Hazard" reached a high of 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and "Chains Around My Heart" also went to #9 on US A.C. charts. Marx admitted in 2001 that the track "Superstar" is about pop star Madonna.
