This allows you to route any sound and control/record track mutes at the press of a pad, and also set up any FX chain and bus the audio over there, also just by pressing a pad!
It has to be by far the best of all the hack solutions for recording track mutes. Minimal routing work and no physical cables, and I haven't tried it yet but I guess you should be able to export your stems individually with the information intact (maybe someone can confirm this).

This is a vid showing how to monitor and record effects like Guitar Rig and be able to hear them while recording. It involves a bit of strange routing, so I'll include that below.
This will help anyone hoping to record audio and hear the FX in the studio, and will make it possible to do live tracking a la FKJ or artists that layer everything live and on the spot.
Copy and paste these steps!
1) Make a group for guitar rig
2) Load guitar rig on the first sound slot (pad)
3) Make a group for your guitar
4) Set the GROUP output (dial above Plug in the software, or the Channel button on the hardware) to the guitar rig group's sound slot.
5) Make an audio module on pad 1on the Guitar Group (press the Sampling button on the hardware, or click the waveform in the software)
6) Click the input for that sound slot to your guitar (again, the dial above the plugin icon or the Channel button on the hardware)
7) Set that input to the input of your interface where the guitar is plugged into
8) Press record then start when you are ready to rock
Once you're done, set the input source to none to mute the guitar afterwards.

In this video, I’ll give you some creative tips on how to flip a sampled loop by playing it up and down the keyboard and still have it in key with the rest of the instruments in your beat. I'm showing these tips in a project I made in Ableton Live but you can easily apply the same principles when using samples in Maschine, FL Studio, Logic Pro, etc.
You'll learn how to find the key of your sample and use basic music theory to play the "correct" notes, make sure your sampled loops remain tempo synced as you play them up and down, how to make them less static and how to create a b-section by creating different patterns with your sample.

NI Maschine & Komplete Kontrol Integration with Logic Pro XA short video on how to create a Logic Pro X template with integration of Native Instruments Maschine and Komplete Kontrol.
My workflow is that i brainstorm ideas for new tracks on the Maschine MK3 and then using this template further process and arrange them inside of Logic without first having to export them. I also set up some basic instruments in the template that have scale settings of Komplete Kontrol programmed already.
This video explains how to trigger scene changes out of Logic as well as process different sounds inside Maschine individually.
I hope it will help some of you and is useful even though the audio quality is not that great and I'm looking forward to hearing your feedback.

Brian Kullas from Native Instruments recently dropped by Musician's Friend to walk us through the new Maschine Mikro MK3.
As part of his demonstration, Brian built out and sketched a basic idea within the Maschine software, showing how the Maschine Mikro 3 fully integrates within it.
Maschine Mikro 3 features 16 velocity-sensitive color pads. Maschine Mikro 3 has four different ways to input sound (Drum mode, Keyboard mode) Chord Mode and Step Mode), allowing for a variety of workflows.
Maschine Mikro 3 also features a dual-touch Smart Strip, which allows for expressive, dynamic playing.
Additionally, Maschine Mikro 3 comes with a 1.6 GB Maschine Factory Selection. This library includes a variety of samples, one-shots, loops, presets and more.
Resampling with Maschine MikroSampling is just one of the ways you can build your sound bank with Maschine as the software gives you the option to use any previously purchased sounds and FX with the MK3 and control them using the hardware. In our second video Tom looks at how to use existing sound effects on your computer and transform them with Maschine for use as fillers within a track.

In this video I show you how to get started with the new Native Instruments Maschine Mikro MK3. I demo how to setup your Maschine Mikro MK3 once you have unboxed it, registering it and installing Native Access and the software you’ll need. Then I show you step by step, how to create a beat on the Maschine Mikro MK3, using one of the included kits. I show you how to browse kits, load them, and then play and record a beat. I’ll also show you how to layer drum sounds and samples into your beat. You’ll learn how to set the tempo, create a pattern, and adjust the volumes of individual sounds. Finally, I’ll show you how to use the ultra-cool FX feature on your Maschine Mikro MK3.

I demo how to create a new group, setup the pads to play chords, and use the Chord Set feature for some inspiring chord progressions. This is really great for beginners or if you don’t understand music theory. You’ll be making music quickly. I also show you step by step, how to add a bass line on the Maschine Mikro MK3, using a plugin instrument. This is great if you already have some plugins that you’ll like to use with your Maschine. I show you how to browse sounds, load them, and then play and record chords and a tune. I’ll also show you how to layer these sounds on your beat. In this video I show you how to play a melody, add effects, create scenes, and construct a song on the new Native Instruments Maschine Mikro MK3. I demo how to select a sound, use the keyboard mode, record your tune, and then add effects. I demonstrate how to add an internal effect that comes with the Maschine Mikro MK3. Then I show you how to adjust the effect. I create additional scenes or variations of the beat, and then put scenes together to create a song using the Maschine software. In this video I show you how to use the sampling and slicing tools in Maschine to construct a beat with the new Native Instruments Maschine Mikro MK3. I show you how to select a sample, and then use the sample editor to slice the sample so that you can activate it on different pads. I also show you how to use the choke function to create a choke group so that pads will silence when activating another one. I show you how to adjust your slices and then lay them out on pads to trigger. I then add a baseline and drums to the beat using the Maschine Mikro MK3 and kits and add a third-party effect plugin to add some lo-fi sound to the beat. Then I show you how to adjust the third-party effect.

In this video you’ll see how you can easily create melodies and chord progressions in Maschine MK3 without knowing much music theory.
All these features are available on all Maschine controllers: Maschine MK1 and MK2, Maschine Mikro MK1, MK2 and MK3 and Maschine Studio. It’s just that the MK3 adds dedicated buttons on the front panel for quicker access.
So these music theory helpers are in Keyboard mode and Chords mode
With keyboard mode you can choose a type of scale, select a root note and play in any key and only the “right” notes are available on the pads.
Chords mode has two options: Harmonizer and Chord Sets.
Harmonizer creates parallel chords - the same chord but starting from a different root which is not very flexible, it’s similar to Ableton Live’s chord effect.
Chord sets offer you a bunch of chords that will sound good in a particular key and they are not the same chord played up and down the keyboard. It’s basically a pool of chords that you can play just by pressing a single pad and create your own chord progressions.

In this video for Maschine software, learn how to use the drag and drop MIDI/WAV features. These are helpful for transitioning from Maschine to a DAW as well as for internal workflow enhancements.
When working with a pattern, you have the option to drag and drop the pattern's MIDI or WAV data. I show a few different scenarios where this feature can offer a fast workflow.
If you want to create an audio file from a specific pattern, just drag the WAV data to a new sound slot. This sound can be effected or chopped up, then re-sequenced into the project.
If you want to quickly layer different sounds and create a combination sample, just make a new pattern and sequence a note for each individual sound. Then, drag the pattern audio to a new sound slot, and you'll have a rendered WAV file of the combination.
Finally, you can drag and drop MIDI to quickly copy and paste notes to a new sound slot. This could be helpful if you were trying to audition different sounds and wanted the same MIDI sequence to play on all of them.

In the first of two videos, I go over the the process of arranging in Maschine. The first step is to create several varied patterns for each element of the track. This can be done using unique sequences, automation, and addition/deletion of instruments.
At the end of this step, I have the building blocks ready for arrangement. In the next video, I will cover using scenes to arrange these patterns into a finished, coherent track.

In this project here, I have three groups. My first group has the sample, my second group has drums, and the third had instruments. I have electronic piano, bass, tremolo and strings, staccato strings and piano. I like to do this group arrangement quite a bit; one group for the sample, one group for the drums, and one group for all of the instruments.
The basic idea for this project started with a sequence of the sample, which sounded good to me, but if I had that whole thing playing for the entire length of the track it would get pretty boring. So what I did was that I created a new pattern, starting from scratch and recorded a totally different sequence but using the same slices.
It has the same vibe as that first pattern, but it sounds interesting and new and I could see that I could switch between those different patterns to keep things interesting. I could also see this track splitting into two sections; I had one section governed by the first pattern and another section that is a little bit slower that has this pattern.
So I wanted to create those two sections and in Maschine you can do that by using scenes. So my first scene I selected my main pattern and I created a new scene on this empty pad here and loaded up the different pattern with the sample.
So now any time I want to select different sections of this song, I can just use these two scenes here. So scene one is that main section and scene two is a little bit slower, and that is one way to keep things interesting to have different sections that are completely different based on the sample.
I had all that ready and then move on to drums, so I started on my main section here and moved over to my drum group and just recorded a basic drum pattern to fill in the gaps. I like how that sounded going with the first pattern of my sample, but I wasn't sure that it would fit the other section. I headed over there and loaded up that same drum pattern but again this is the different sliced pattern. I thought that that would probably work but I wanted to try something a little bit different.
Again, these slices gave me a slower feeling to them, so what I did was I duplicated my drum pattern, took out my high hats and added a ride central down below. To me that sounded a little bit more fitting and to have that slower feeling to it with that ride central and makes things a little bit more interesting.
Again, we have this first scene here has the main drum pattern going and the second scene has the slower variation of the sample as well as the drums. Another thing I can do is keep transitions, so moving between these two scenes things might sound a little bit more choppy and I decided to test that out.
So I went to my scene here and went to a little bit towards the end and that didn't sound too bad but I thought I could make it sound a bit better, and going to my first section and duplicated that drum pattern and just changing the ending of it a little bit.
You can see the ending changes their; the snares are a little bit different and I decided to see how that sounded and I think that is sounding pretty good at this point. I have two sections, with drums and the sample as well as a pattern that I can use to transition between them.

As much as I love making beats with the Maschine MK3, the arrangement mode (or song mode) isn't flexible enough for me.
So it's much easier and more convenient to export every element of my beat as a separate track and continue arranging and mixing it in Ableton Live.
In this video I show you the most effective way to do this and how to import the exported stems in Live quickly and easily.
