Through the use of food dyes, cotton-ball stuffing, imitation ice, and an array of other clever devices, these films explore the many trickeries we are ever presented with by commercial industries in our everyday lives. It’s real food, but not really. - Directed, Filmed & Edited by Minhky Le Camera: Panasonic GH4 in 1080p 96fps, 60fps & 4K (compressed to a 1080p timeline). Settings: James Miller's settings - Cinelike V, -5 sharpness, -5 saturation, -5 noise reduction. Glass: Voigtlander 25mm f0.95 Edited and Graded: Premiere CC, FilmConvert. Sound: Foley was handled by borrowing sounds from all over the internet, and through VideoCopilot's sound packs and sampling originals. Details: The overall setup was extremely small. Blue cardboard on IKEA table tops taped on in quite honestly the most primordial way. I used soda water because of the amazing fizz it produces, which normally stays for about 1-2 hours - great for photo and video work. I love being able to punch in to the bubbles as it was shot almost entirely in 4k resolution as it was edited on a 1080p timeline. I had taken a two-day Food Styling course by world renowned food stylist Denise Vivaldo who had offered me personal tips of food styling and chasing life goals. - © 2015 Minhky Le
