Millions of coronavirus vaccines have been administered in wealthy countries while in one of the world's poorest, only 25 doses have been given. The global vaccine-sharing fund, Covax, says it is preparing to deliver its first supplies in February, but is competing with nations striking their own, lucrative deals with manufacturers to secure the majority of doses. The head of the World Health Organization has warned the world is on the brink of a catastrophic moral failure which will cost many more lives.
